I don't mean to be a troll, but I think you are being misleading with this listing.

If the market for a 7.0 book is between $1,000 and $1,400, and you are selling it for $2,303.33 (about a thousand over the 90 day average for this book) AND claiming someone could make any money on a flip of this book - that is just plain old dishonest. Yes, if someone is a fool enough to buy it for this much, fine, that's his problem. But you are misleading those who don't have access to the market data by insinuating that there is an opportunity to flip it at this price.

Actually it's more because I'm not desperate to get rid of the book and I may have it regraded myself down the road.

If you don't like the price that's understandable, but no one is forcing you to buy it either.

How am I being misleading by just stating my opinion that the book could be a *possible* investment opportunity for someone that is willing to have it regraded?
I'm not a professional grader but I'm not in agreement with the grade of the book either.

Again, that's just my opinion.

Please reread what I wrote.

You can ask whatever you want, for whatever reason you want. You could be one of those guys on eBay who list something for a crazy price because they really don't want to sell it but just want to show off to everyone what they have. I don't care about that.

I don't care if you think they misgraded the book. I've been there too, but that's neither here nor there.

You are being misleading by selling a book that is worth (on the open market) $1200 for almost double that AND stating that its an investment.

If I came to you and said I have a great investment for you - I'll sell you an ounce of Gold for $2,300, and its a great investment because it could go up! Am I being honest? Yes, it could go up. BUT right now you could go anywhere and buy an ounce of Gold for $1,200 or so. And the likelihood is that the price could drop as well. Would you trust me in this? Or would you think, maybe he isn't being quite so honest?

I could say Hey, I've got a great investment for you - 4 shares of Tesla stock for $2,300! And it could go up! Am I being honest? Yeah, it could go up. BUT, 4 shares are currently selling for about $1,320 on the open market, and it could go down. Would you say I'm misleading you, or that I'm just stating facts and its up to you to decide what to do?

Remove the junk about an investment, and you are no longer being misleading. Then you're just offering a book for sale. You can say you disagree with the grade. But don't say its a possible flip.

If you don't get the idea by now, I don't know how else to explain it . . .

Actually the price was definitely listed wrong after looking it over again. I've since changed it...

But, your numbers are on the extreme low end and laughable. Maybe if someone needed quick money and wanted to unload it, then that would be another story. It just seems like a typical low ball game to me.

Not looking to waste time with nonsense.

If anyone is interested feel free to shoot me a message with any questions.

I have to say... I think he makes a good point. You also failed to mention that a re-grade also brings the possibility of a lower grade.

*Twice the FMV
*The re-grading stuff is pure speculation(failing to mention grade could go down)
*USPS Priority Mail (2-3 Day Delivery) Delivery Turnaround Time 5-9 days?
*All that Scammer stuff you listed
*Spread Peace?
*now wrong price was listed after "looking it over again"

Lots of Red flags here for me. The only thing you seem to be missing is charity or religious donation angle (Ooops!!! just notice your avatar, there's the religion play.)

Nice looking books that would most likely sell themselves without all the extra mumbo jumbo talk.

@ComicFan I'll just say one last thing since you seem to think I have an ulterior motive - I have no interest in buying your books, I'm just not in the market for them. I am merely pointing out what I see as a misrepresentation. Go see what sold on eBay recently, or the GPA reported sales. I don't control the market, it is what it is.

Good luck, hope you understand one day.

One of the advantages of selling on the boards is to avoid the 8-13% commission the popular selling sites charge sellers. This way sellers can hopefully pass that savings on to the buyers here.

In your case, you actually increased the price of the Detective #359 by close to 50% over the 90 day average GPA of $1,317, and CoCollect FMV of $1,400. The highest sale price in 2018 for this book is $1,400, and it was a CGC copy.

And the garbage about it being undergraded, and would get a bump if regraded sure is original, never heard that before. It needs a full grade bump to hit an 8.0 in order to be worth the $2,000 your asking for it as a 7.0.

Ebay is your best bet at the record-setting price you're looking to get.

If it's a newsstand copy, I'll just give you my account and routing information. Take out whatever amount you think is fair.

Ohhhh. This one went south, didn't it

I'll join the party by pointing out that PayPal Seller fees are just that. The SELLER's fees. At well over market value, most here will feel the seller can just pay their own fees.

For the OP - forums like this are frequented by very knowledgeable collectors. If you are going to talk nonsense about Interpol, ask prices well over FMV and want other people to pay your fees, you can expect some flaming.

Prices that end in .33 cents?? Snicker.....

I have no problem people trying to sell at the prices they are comfortable with, but at least use clear pictures instead of pictures which are of no use to assess the comics

A point not mentioned but it is also likely offered here and not Ebay because of the obvious eBay policy issues
