I just had the same issue with fighting them on my last shipment. They only gave me a partial credit. I was told that CBCS needs to clearly state on the commercial invoice that these are "Canadian goods." If this is done instead of stating that they are the recipients goods I was told that there should be no charges.
I have to send this note to the customer service team who basically blew me off when I mentioned I had been charged by FedEx. It wasn't Jake that I was dealing with this time as both of the previous times this happened when I contacted Jake he took care of it for me.

just got the message that other charges may be due (delivery should be on 21st)...nice thing is that I can take delivery before paying for any customs/import fees....man that is a mistake on their part!!! I love me a fight!!!

I used to deal with multiple levels of government audits, threats of fines etc. mean very little to me.

I have a press screen order (with fast press) that just hit billing because they're going to press it. CBCS received it the day after Christmas, so someone looked at my books after three weeks. Obviously the actual pressing will add on to that but seems to be moving pretty quickly. Although a separate order also with fast press and screen hasn't had anything happen yet.

My current order (6/11 receipt date) is in labels, so it will be here soon. I am a glutton for punishment. I just created another invoice. Packing and shipping this new batch today. This time, I have Modern, Consumer, and Expanded tiers, no pressing, and all are Fast Pass. I'll let you know how this order goes.

Fingers crossed!

@mrelowe yup..me too....just trying to figure what to send in. Need to have a few books to sell to make $$ to buy other books or submit more books. Looks like Mister Miracle in just about any condition is going up, same with Forever People 1. I have 3 MM in the 7 to 8 range and 2 FP in the 8+? range as well as two Batman 357 in the 9.6/9.8 that I'm thinking of sending in maybe a few others...I add press now to everything though

I just got the shipping email for that first order. I'm honestly kind of shocked; three weeks for press screen, pressing, and 2-Day Modern. It got there right after Christmas and includes New Year's. Pretty speedy.

Question, How long does it take to log a book in, once it's received.
I submitted online. Dec. 29th, I shipped out after the new year, and according to tracking number,
it was received by an individual(no name) at CBCS in Dallas on Jan 7th, it is now the 18th and my dashboard still says submitted.
Any advice?
Thanks

I finally have been updated, it took six months but my comics should ship in the next couple weeks.
Biggest frustration either them was teir lack of updates, meaning that I was told to check my online account, which was never updated, even though I was directed there multiple times.

Best thing about the process, the customer service position provided by phone was drastically better than through email.

Will post again after I have received the conics

Don't worry. This seems to still be common. Your invoice still reflects the Dec 29th submission date and will until it ships. While it may seem that unpacking and scanning an invoice should be easy and automatically update the dashboard but it doesn't. Heavy submissions could delay it or it could be that the dashboard doesn't reflect internal data.

Thanks so much mrelowe, I appreciate it. I can play the wait game, no problem. I submitted from WonderCon before, but this is the first time mailing to them. Just want to make sure it gets into the line for grading. Guess I should have just waited to submit at WonderCon again this year. But was trying to start cutting into my pile of submissions I want to get graded. lol.
Thanks again.

To CBCS’s credit - the process of registration received comics picked up. For the past few months it only takes 1-2 days

I understand the situation. I am still awaiting my first direct mail submission to CBCS. Fingers crossed that it will be back soon since it is in Labels. My next submission is in the mail on the way to CBCS. If you are worried about the item getting to them, check the USPS tracking (reminds me to check mine since it was scheduled to be there today). Regardless of when it gets scanned, you feel confident that it is there. If you didn't get tracking, now you understand it's importance. LOL. No worries, it will get scanned eventually.

So I got an email from CBCS that my order has been scanned and received. Dashboard states that the order is processing but USPS tracking still shows alert. CBCS quickly scanned the order, so quick that USPS didn't even realize that they delivered it. LOL.

I feel your pain my friend. Turned in a box of books at Tampa Con 8/3/18, wanting them for October Con in Melborne FL. Mid October checked with them (2 months), said they very backlogged. Contacted again in December, now worried about getting books for Orlando Con in late January. They will try to push them through.

Mid January received email they were done and shipped to local office (I asked for pickup only 30 min away). They arrived 1/15/19. No contact from them. Called main number, invalid. Called local (Pressing number), invalid. Actually went to Pressing address 11:00 AM, locked no answer to knocks. Emailed again they told me to contact Pressing Office for pickup and gave a different # (239) 234-1673. Tried that, just goes to message. Left several messages, no response. Leaving tomorrow AM for Orlando Con, still very upset at lack of customer service and communications. Now 5.5 months! Grrrr.

Is this all changed since CBCS was sold????

All I received since was an email advising me to use a link (?unprovided?) to schedule an appointment to pick up my books.

*sigh*

Are you past your estimated turn around time? They are at least 6 weeks behind what was quoted I think. They have had my books since the end of June and they are only "in the grading room." They were supposed to be done Dec. 8th. If you just selected standard service with a press, you have a loooong wait yet...

My June 11th order that was pressed is just now shipping. I would assume that you have about 6-8 weeks more. I can tell you that they move pretty fast (a couple of weeks) once they hit the grading room. I feel your pain, but they are improving and orders are getting done.

Well just able to schedule an appointment to pick up my books. Was in a link, not noticeable in the 12:26 email - instead of the call Steve Ricketts said I would receive. Of course no appointments open until next week, so no books to take to the Orlando Con this weekend.

SteveRicketts, a little bit of customer service would surely have gone a long way in this situation. I realize you are very much behind and probably frustrated. But a call to say "When can you come in? We will be glad to set aside 5 minutes to get you on your way quickly after almost 6 months waiting." Sadly, you still have a long way to go. I just hope I can finally get them before the Tampa Con in August...

I would just want a Humans response from the e-mail site, not that exact e-mail i keep getting back. Whatever happened to customer service.I guess i'll have another 1-2 months of wait.
