Just show something cool part 27584

Beaten by boat oars Studley_Dudley private msg quote post Address this user
@HeinzDad @BrianGreensnips this is at the Bookery in Fairborn, OH. I also frequent Queen City Comics in Cincinnati and Comic Book World in Florence, KY. There are plenty of shops in the area but these are my go to shops. I've been wanting to go to stores in the Cleveland area, but haven't made the journey yet.

I have been to the one in Florence Kentucky before. My wifes sister used to live in Kentucky. There is actually a dealer who has a comic book shop in a flea market shop near Cleveland. He sets up here at the Livonia show. He has some awesome high grade books. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name or the shop that he sets up at. I will ask for his card the next time I see him. He basically drives about 4 hours to set up at thos small K of C hall show. That must say something about the show.

I found this Tedtalk entertaining and thought-provoking a couple years ago. Didn't realize I had bookmarked it:

One thing I’ve liked doing in the past few years has been to get the 1999/2000 Marvel Authentix covers colored by various artists. They have printed pencils or inked art on a sketch-cover type stock. I’ve got a few more that I’d like to get done and heck, I’ll probably buy multiples and have different artists color them. DC also released a line of coloring book variants a few years ago so I might get some of those done as well!

@GanaSoth I made this for a friend’s Christmas present a few years ago out of Sculpey

Unfortunately, I don’t have any great photos of the finished base, which I really like how they turned out

Might verify that one has the original voice track intact with the profanity, which became such a massive issue when the original movie was released, then pulled, edited and re-released. People made sucha deal of that...and then came the backlash like no other could have even forseen over the death of Optimus Prime.

Hasboro saw that movie as a way to distance themselves from the expensive orignal Takara version toys, and to replace them with cheaper diecast plastic versions.
So that movie was the ending place for the original seeker jets, the fantastic metal autoboot cars, the bunches of toys with gleaming chrome parts, etc
What could have been if only Takara had been able to offer a 2nd generation of toys made as well as the first were....
In their place we got the die cast crew...Hot Rod, Kup, Blur, Wreck Gar, Galvatron, scourge, and Cy-clownus!

@Darkseid_of_town Thanks! That one was actually the first one I had done. The latest is the Spider-Man.

Next one will probably be either Magneto or X-Men
