Maybe they should have built a polling feature into the forums so they could get some actual user feedback before just implementing arbitrary changes. You know, market research. |

"The layout of the label was redesigned with the collector in mind, with easier to read information." Then why are the grading notes and graded date not on the label? Look at all that wasted space. |

This looks pretty bad. Focus groups... use focus groups made up of collectors... |

Just curious my book is in shipping now, will it have this new label? I really don't care what the label looks like, as long as the grade is accurate and my book is safe in the slab.

I feel like they took that criticism too much to heart and came back trying way too hard the other way. The old CBCS look may have been simple but was functional and timeless. The new look is trying to look cool but feels very 90s |

@The_Curmudgeon well the new label post was consistently on the front page of the forum and the subject came up often. I agree with your post but I am just playing a bit of Devil's advocate here. No other change related posts ever stayed front and center as that label one. However, there were more threads about a census.

I have always thought and said to others they should have like a gold, silver, bronze, copper etc band of colour used in labels to denote the age. It may be tough to do but I would like to see it. Maybe on the old CBCS label around the outer circle of the CBCS logo or a thin band around the edge of the label. I don't think they have quite nailed the issues with the old label. As many have said it isn't just about the label but as it is part of the package the better looking the better. CBCS I would of openly discussed the design with people on here and used different people's skill sets to have worked towards a public ally agreed label. Doing them behind the scenes can lead to problems. I know you can't please everyone and some will love this look but I feel most won't |

I know that this is a long shot, but I wonder if we will be allowed to request old labels when we send books in to be graded.

I agree that the CBCS case is the safest on the market - which explains your use of design elements such as rivets and a shield. But the amateurish new design also makes your corporate brand seem dated, cheap and unprofessional. The old logo and label were much cleaner and more elegant. Sometimes less is more. And I'm speaking with 20 years experience as a corporate graphic designer specializing in brand standards. My 2 cents. |

I'm not sold on this change. It looks amateurish and lacks a kind of polish that I come to expect from a company that wants to be "the leader" of comics grading.
