$18 isn't a bad deal, plus that's $1 for every month you'll have to wait to get your books back lol

CBCS rules! What I am wishing is that slap that CGC is going for will force CBCS to once again resume the great customer service it was once known for! And TAT's need to be improved upon I still remember when CGC also took 6 months to grade your books but they got over that so CBCS should also get over it! Then all of our lives will be perfect with CBCS!

This sounds like desperation for CGC.

What do people think will happen to the cgc's turn around times if and when this service hits its stride?

That's about what i did: My CBCS slabs will remain, but i took two of my PGX ones there to take advantage of this promotion.

It seemed a little too coincidental that CGC released this promotion during NYCC which is a ReedPop convention. It's interesting since CGC partnered with ReedPop to be the only comic grading company allowed to have a booth. That plus the measures they took last year to make it inconvenient for CBCS......CBCS should be flattered I guess.

@Hcanes

I’ve mentioned this before. Giving CGC exclusivity at a con is ridiculous. Using this logic, there could be only one booth selling comic books at a con as well.

So cbcs has a crossover service too?

I have a few CGG comics I think I should cross to someone.

Is the crossover listed on the submission form?

@imcnok It's just a regular submission for a crossover. You just send the slabs to CBCS.

There used to be a discount when CGC case mas happened but that is no longer in place.

Seems like a deal for the cgc crossover no? The cbcs is $80 for a $1k book from the 1960's

Looks like CGC is pushing their crossover option even harder...wonder if this means it was used more or less than they were expecting?

I'm thinking that its gone well for them! Especially hearing that incentive of only charging $10 for books that get a lower grade. Do you think they will only charge $10? I doubt it, they will probably keep grades and not grade and just encase in CGC slabs. lol

It's a smart business move and a good opportunity for PGECHHs books to be reslabbed but no way does this replace CBCS slabs.

Might start shopping for some pgx books. Good thing is you already have a general idea of the grade and the comic is well packed

Until you crack it out and an interior page has one third of the page torn off or there is undetected restoration.

I would guess less. Why further discount a successful marketing campaign?

I personally know of three times with PGX books. One was an Amazing Fantasy 15. It was more like 1/5 of an interior page was missing, but still...

.....and it should NEVER happen...how does one forget a significant portion of a page is missing?

I think they (cgc) know cbcs grades equivalent or stricter, and tha 95% of the re-grades will be the same or higher. Bet you cgc even keeps internal stats on such things.

Now, pgx....not sure what the are thinking there, other an maybe most won't send theirs in for fear of getting a significantly lower grade.

I'm thinking that CGC hired too many new graders and staff to get their TATs sped up. However, with the con season over, submissions will slow down and they need the revenue to keep that staff. And quite honestly, I don't think they got the response they had hoped for, so they made the deal good over all tiers and threw in the $10 deal. I'm actually looking at this as a desperate ploy on their part for business. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are in any danger of going bankrupt, but I think they need the volume to keep their staff. Just my thoughts.
