@Jesse_O Our family fishing trip is to Lake of the Woods in MN every year. The Walleye are fantastic, the Northern Pike are gigantic, and the scenery is incredible. The only downside is the driving distance (I drive up from Texas), and the mosquitos; they really could qualify as the state bird.

@BabaLament LOL!! Yeah the mosquitoes can be terrible here!!! And I gather that you know that we often call them our state bird!! LOL!! But that whole area is gorgeous!!! I actually grew up in central Minnesota and lived on or near a lake. I spent MANY hours fishing until I got married. I love catching northerns!!! They were my favorite fish to catch and eat as a teen. I could go off our dock and catch them almost any day that the lake was open (not covered in ice). But I caught and ate sunfish, crappie, bass, northern and walleye. We even had an occasional bullhead or carp smoked by our neighbor. I fished pretty much every summer up until about 10 years ago. I miss it terribly!!!

me and my buddies. first time fishing in the ocean when we took our families to Florida together. I caught this beast (pictured) right off the bat and got sea sick as hell. I sat in the air conditioning for the next 4-5 hours while these 2 had a blast. once we got to shore and I stood on solid ground, I felt way better. then they took our picture with our catches and puked my guts up right after this was taken. I have been forced to accept my land legs, the ocean life is sadly not for me.

Thanks, Jon. Had a good day today on Aquidnick Reservoir in Coventry, RI. Caught the one in the picture on a Texas-rigged Yum Dinger (weightless). Spinnerbaits were also producing. Ready to make another trade? I still have a few Wolverines.

So RI is experiencing some snow and slightly colder than normal weather. Me and my fishing buddy thought why not go fishing? We had to bust through about a half-inch of ice at the ramp, but we still managed to each catch a largemouth bass.

@Frontier2Xterra looks like a Northern Pike, close relative? Spots a little diff but that elongation, fin positions, and underbite...

@comic_book_man close relative. In the pike family. Doesn’t get near as big as northern pike but still can be fun to catch and watch your fingers when landed.
