I have a large plastic container that I put them in. i don't think you need to be too creative in how you store them.

BCW on line has the graded size comic book boxes for $7.65 each. Or if you buy 5 they are closer to $5. Each. I had bought 10 before and then I built sheetmetal outer boxes with tight sheetmetal lids to go down over the top. I also put handles on them. I built them to sell and to use for trading for key books. I hope to find the time to build some more. They were pretty fun to make. I also used an aluminum silicone on the seams from the inside for extra protection. I had also built one for a long box that I keep my nicer books in. But the long box case is too heavy. I used to fabricate ductwork professionally so I have all the correct tools to make them look sweet.

I can do a picture of the long box. I might have pictures of the graded boxes but not sure. I will try to post it when I get home tonight.

Here is some pictures of the long box in the sheetmetal box with cover. I am currently working on building a custom size one for all 400 of my file copy prints. My wife is tired of them stacked up on a table. I will show some photos of that when I get it done too.

Depending on the value of the book, go get a waterproof/fireproof safe from Sentry. They're like $150. Would work pretty good in case of a natural disaster.
