I know this entry is late to the party, but for those that come to this thread late, I just used Mr. Comic Press, and he did a fantastic job on my books. Non-color break spine stress just vanished a small fold on one of the back covers is gone.

You can reach him at: comicpressing@gmail.com

Really easy to work with and great communication and turn around times.

Oh, one of those cottage guys. I don't trust any Presser who doesn't have a website.

I have never had a book pressed. What exactly is the process to use Joey? How do I contact him? Does he do the work and then ship to CBCS in my name? Does that include a member discount if he does? Do I pay Joey what CBCS would cost? Does Joey fill out the paperwork for CBCS? Are the books insured against his work, or is it hope for the best?

Thanks in advance.

Hey CF. I just emailed him at comicpressing@gmail.com and he responded very quickly. Payment is through pay pal. I had him ship my books to a facilitator for the Baltimore comic con. I am not sure if he submits to CBSC directly, but I am sure he could if you use your account and include the invoice for submission.
The books I submitted where not high-dollar keys, just ones with sentimental value that I wanted to have signed for the con, so I didn't go into insurance matters with him. But, I will say the before and after pics were very good. What was most important to me was quick turn around time in order to get my books to the facilitator in time, and he turned them around lightning quick. Some of the more well known pressers have turn around times of several weeks or more, and that just wouldn't work for me this time around.

Most of your questions can be answered at http://www.cfpcomics.com. email Joe if you need answers to any questions he doesn't cover on the site. I've just included my CBCS paperwork with the submission and he will hand deliver to CBCS when he is done with the books.

Sorry, CF I thought you were asking about my guy not CFP, didn't mean to jump the thread like that.

This is one big reason I wouldn't trust Facebook pressers, I assume they are doing it out of their house and are not insured at all. What if his cat knocked over his bong and ruined your comic, would you receive full restitution?

Well, not so easy. The link didn't work. A screen just saying "wave 1" kept showing up.

So I googled it and got there. But every time I click on one of the links that says "read more", nothing happens.

I don't know whether the problem is on my end, or his end. I guess I will have to find out everything via email.

Thanks again.

If you're talking about the CFP website I just went there and it's working fine

Pressing is an art form for sure. Using a respectable pre-established pressed is the way to go. I personally will never take responsibility and prrss someone elses books. Not my thing. I have practiced and learned it on my own just for my own knowledge. I also learned to clean books, but that to me is even more ticky than pressing. It takes patience and a subtle hand to do it right without removing color gloss or ripping a page or cpver.
The nice thing about CFP is you just build your invoice on cbcs, build your invoice on CFP and then send the comics with the CFP invoice and the copy of the cbcs invoice in the same box.
CFP presses and will even cleana book to am exten as part of the service. then drives them to cbcs, at which point on cbcs website you will see you invoice change to recieved status. Then you pay cbcs and wait untill they go through the process.

You say that to all the Noobs.

I don't remember it, by if you say so. I guarantee the other ID has next one will be one I've never used.
