It would be so easy to take a strip of clear tape from a tape gun and put over the ink pen signature to protect the ink. Just sayin'.

Hm, not sure I'm following.

On the book themselves? Where does this tape get applied?

Time will tell with these types of paint pens. You only know something is wrong if you crack it out of the slab or attempt to take it out of the bag.

Personally I hope they are a viable alternative as I like the way the signatures pop out at you.

Same. I mean, I'm willing to take the plunge. I honestly did as much research as I could, Went with the strongest brand and highest recommendations. I mean only time will tell but I did just check on my first signed books just now (the uncanny books posted above), and so far, still perfect.

Just a bad joke.
I was at a shop once that had scotch tape on every square inch of the cover on an Amazing Spider-Man #1.
I was talking to my friend and I said "That's a shame."
The store manager got defensive and said "That's not a shame. That's Amazing Spider-Man #1"
I calmly looked back at him and said " I know. I own one and mine does not have any tape on the cover."
He swallowed, stared at me and had nothing to say back.
A year or so later we became friends and we had this nice story about how I made him feel really stupid that day we first met.

I agree they look cool. I think the temperature at which they are stored are a big factor in determining if they stick to thr inner well.

LOL

amazing.
now I get the inside joke, which is insane and ridiculous.

I hope he admitted too, how insane it was to have that much tape on a book, let alone a grail like that.
It would seriously make a grown man cry

In my experience alway alway always use a Sharpie. The silver and gold ones are great, black is fine too, but their drying and test of time is A+. Just sayin.
