Venom may not get an R-rating after all7100

Collector Drogio private msg quote post Address this user
Me too.

I'd like a copy if someone is willing to part with one that is.

Need to see if there's an AMC around me...I think I checked why I heard about this a month or so ago...even signed up for an announcement through the AMC website to inform me when tickets went on PRESALE. I got no email and forgot about it.

@Joosh The important question: how was the movie?

I liked it. It was a decent action movie, and I thought Tom Hardy did an excellent job with the character. It was pretty obvious he was having fun with the role. The rest of the casting was pretty meh, but they were mostly disposable characters anyhow, so no great loss. The script was about as convoluted as you'd expect for creating a Spider-Man-less Venom origin story. The action sequences were kind of uneven, but of the four I'd say it was an even split between good and bad. The CGI was uneven; some of it was very well polished, other parts seemed like they didn't have enough polish (or ran out of money). The first post-credit sequence (for those who have not seen the film yet) is absolutely worth sitting for; the second one is pretty meh in my opinion.

Semi-Spoiler: They didn't use the expected curse word allowed to be used one time in a PG-13 film! I was amazed; but when you see why, hopefully you agree that its one of the best parts of the movie.

Anyone who likes superhero movies, or comic book movies, will probably have a good time. It isn't Shakespeare, but it isn't trying to be.

Additionally, I managed to get seven comics. I got lucky; the young lady at the customer service desk was really cool, and after the movie I asked for a couple of extra comics. She gave me six. I've already promised one each to @Masochism , @Drogio , & a buddy, so I've got three more to go. Shoot me a PM if you want one!

Is the comic an adaptation, prequel, or some sort of reprint?

KaptainMyke and 00slim got theirs on the way, still waiting to hear back from JLS_Comics on my last book.

I liked the movie; the terrible reviews had my expectations set very low. It's really not that bad.
Amazing Spider-Man 3 was bad, this is way better than that.

Power of super hero movies. Can't think of too many that didn't make a profit. It is also looking like a huge discrepancy between critics and audience scores.

That's because of Lady Gaga trying to sabotage Venom against her own movie opening this week.

It’ll be interesting to see where the audience score is in a week or two. Not bad so far.

I would take that to mean it's entertaining, but it's not great in the grand scheme of things. The character just never interested me. As I ponder whether to go see it, I'm just not motivated to go.

I haven't seen the movie yet but I knew Tom Hardy wouldn't disappoint. I haven't seen him in anything bad.

Who did the cover for Venom AMC exclusive book?

Here's my book I got from @j00sh! Thanks again man. These books are real thin and easily damaged by production, handling at the movies, and dark/black covers. I still appreciate being able to have one and say, "hey, I saw that in the theaters!" with a story to go along with it. I don't go to AMC I guess it's cinemark affliate the one I go to. My 2 favorite movie theaters and they both have a full bar and serve burgers and other food with your movie, kinda like Alamo Drafthouse so I wasn't able to get a copy.

Thanks again j00sh!

yeah, the waves are gone now - all that is left behind is color breaks and white scuffs, no complaints
