Critics are just opinions...nothing else. |

Cheesy dialogue, shit cgi, and revised generic origin story that doesn't compare at all to the original origin story from comic. that plus the pretty consistent low critic opinion means this is something I may consider watching on an in flight screening if it's available. But will not go out of my way to watch. |

I will wait until I hear from people that saw it from this forum and then decide if I am going to see it. I am on the fence right now. At this point Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in his first movie directed with the R rating sounds more appealing to me.

I’ll grab as many as I can even if I hate the movie, because I like comics. And I’ll offer extras to all you guys for cheap. I have this fear that they won’t have them and I’ll have to make a scene (pun intended.) I hope it doesn’t come to that. |

Me too. I'd like a copy if someone is willing to part with one that is. Need to see if there's an AMC around me...I think I checked why I heard about this a month or so ago...even signed up for an announcement through the AMC website to inform me when tickets went on PRESALE. I got no email and forgot about it. |

@Joosh The important question: how was the movie?
Post 54 IP flag post |
Collector | BabaLament private msg quote post Address this user
I liked it. It was a decent action movie, and I thought Tom Hardy did an excellent job with the character. It was pretty obvious he was having fun with the role. The rest of the casting was pretty meh, but they were mostly disposable characters anyhow, so no great loss. The script was about as convoluted as you'd expect for creating a Spider-Man-less Venom origin story. The action sequences were kind of uneven, but of the four I'd say it was an even split between good and bad. The CGI was uneven; some of it was very well polished, other parts seemed like they didn't have enough polish (or ran out of money). The first post-credit sequence (for those who have not seen the film yet) is absolutely worth sitting for; the second one is pretty meh in my opinion. Semi-Spoiler: They didn't use the expected curse word allowed to be used one time in a PG-13 film! I was amazed; but when you see why, hopefully you agree that its one of the best parts of the movie. Anyone who likes superhero movies, or comic book movies, will probably have a good time. It isn't Shakespeare, but it isn't trying to be. Additionally, I managed to get seven comics. I got lucky; the young lady at the customer service desk was really cool, and after the movie I asked for a couple of extra comics. She gave me six. I've already promised one each to @Masochism , @Drogio , & a buddy, so I've got three more to go. Shoot me a PM if you want one! |
