Do you remember the marvel covers with a portrait framed by marvel characters??

The Peter Porker seems to be the hardest one to find. I had to pay somewhere around $50 to get one.

Gee, I never knew there was a Peter Porker 25th Anniversary edition, but I do have a few of these other ones.

So, THAT's what they look like!

Alas, by the time these were out I'd ceased buying modern comics because rumors were going around that the universal price code was monitored by the deep state and direct sales copies contained images that could be directly linked to the Illuminati.

Seriously, it would take a very dedicated fan to put together a complete set of 25th Anniversary cover books. Some of the non-hero titles aren't that appealing to adventure comic collectors, but having the Marvel 25th set ...in it's entirety... would probably carry more weight for completists. That's just my 2 cents (inflation adjusted).

Those were some pretty busy covers. I have a few of those that I remember buying back in 86.

They remind me of the early MAD magazine covers, ...you know, 25 cents CHEAP era ('56), with the Bill Elder drawn borders.

Mr. Excel says I have 5 of the 29!!
@Wolverine I can for sure see Spider Ham, Ewoks, Heathcliff,Muppet babies and Care Bears being harder to find - can't imagine too many were reading those. As a 12 yr old at the time I could see just ripping on any friends who oh say had Care Bears or Muppet Babies!!

Might have to pull my copies as they would have been bought by me off the rack back then to see what their condition is.

I think this is my next bin search quest.

If I bring in a nice bottle of scotch or whisky to share I can gain access to my LCS basement to see what they have stashed away!!

Yikes!! just had quick look at ebay....yes many are $10 or less but those hard to find are asking way too much - may just have to agree to leave those off the list, unless I run across them in the wild at overstreet prices rather than crazy land online prices
