The CW is working on a series based on the popular DC Comics character, a source told CNN.
"Batwoman" is a superhero first created in 1956 by writer Edmond Hamilton. The fictional character was named Katherine Kane, a wealthy heiress who decides to fight crime in Gotham. She was also Batman's love interest.
The character disappeared from the comics in 1964 but was brought back more than 40 years later as Kate Kane, a Jewish lesbian. The character was the first lesbian superhero.
A source with knowledge of the series told CNN that the character will be fighting crime while also overcoming "her own demons." Caroline Dries is the executive producer and writer, alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns, who will also be executive producers.
Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television is set to produce. (CNN and Warner Bros. share parent company Warner Media.)
The show is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

Current DC series are already full of it with supporting cast in Supergirl, Legends, and Arrow. This seems the next logical step.
I’ll pass.

I don't care that she's a lesbian, I just think she's the most boring member of the Bat-Family. I don't know what she adds to the mythos. As I understand it, Batman spent his entire life training to be what he is. Unless there is some storyline I'm not familiar with, Kate Kain was in the military for a few months - she was kicked out when they found it she was a lesbian - and that qualifies her to be equal to Batman.

In short - this is a pass for me too.

The forced agenda is going to make me quit watching the shows. I think I'll pass on this also.

This could seriously tarnish Batman's popularity also by introducing adult themes to a character that is introduced to children at a young age. Some parents may not want to have conversations like this with a young kid.

if the characters' sexuality is front and center and in your face then it appears forced and it's a token gesture. I never understood why a characters' sexuality needs to be so accentuated or highlighted or pervasive. Just write good stories with well rounded characters and if one of them happens to be gay, great! But that shouldn't be the most important or most interesting thing about the character...just like it shouldn't be for straight characters either.
