Comics Modern AgeGrading Help NeededQuestions

How much of an impact will pressing have on my comic?6900

Collector mattmurdock private msg quote post Address this user
The comic I want to send in is (from what I can tell) in nm condition. It has a few slight -waves, I guess you could call them- coming in from the spine. They're barely noticeable and almost impossible to see on camera. Also the back cover has some rub or something- The back's white, but not perfect white in a few areas. Would getting it pressed solve any of these issues or are they nothing to worry about? I'm also aware that this comic is a cheaper one, I still want to get it graded .

I would absolutely not waste money on pressing that book.

Millions of Spawn #1 were printed.

You could probably buy a graded 9.6-9.8 for the cost of Pressing and have a higher quality book to boot.

Not worth the time or money to press that book. You would be better off buying a already slabbed copy, or a NM+ raw one.

If this has sentimental value and you want it slabbed, then definitely get it pressed and cleaned before slabbing.

If it's for possible re-sale, don't bother.

I press everything. You may want to limit it to values of $100 and up, though.

Was definitely going to say this. If newsstand then send it in! If not then I agree with most everybody else. There were tons of these printed and you can just buy a NM one for the cost you'll spend to have it pressed.

Thanks guys. I'll hold off for a while, maybe try and get it signed by a few people first.

This.

Even a newstand isn't that much of a return on investment if it's low grade

@Drogio
Word is that only 1% of Image Comics distribution in this era were newsstand edition.
