The only people who should even touch or should have touched their names on an AF 15 were jack kirby (RIP) for the cover Steve ditko (RIP) and stan lee that's it.

Tom holland’s on AF15? I know it’s their book and they have money, but whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? I mean why? And I’ve witnessed first hand someone got Sam del la Rosa to sign ASM 300. I think people should have a certain respect on certain property they did not work on and not sign it. But hey, to each his own. |

@CaptainCanuck of course I'm sorry. It's just Steve just passed. But of course jack is king of comics for ever.

I’ve said it before, one of my grumbles with Signature Series comics is that they cannot stand on their own. Once a comic is designated Signature Series, it is forever connected to it’s slab. Without the slab, a Signature Series comic is designated as “marked-up” and eligible for signature verification at best.

Quote:Originally Posted by Aliens I don't mind a signature in general. They make up the bulk of my graded comics collection. Outside of a special issue, I prefer that the signer have an actual attachment to the book but there are exceptions. Joe Simon on any Captain America book is a home run as, despite being the character's co-creator, he didn't work on much of the series and they're from the Golden Age anyway. Some creators' signatures are works of art in their own right. Steranko and Neal Adams come to mind immediately, but again, I want something that they actually worked on when having them sign. |

![]() This is a travesty. As a rule, I understand trying to boost the resale value of a low end copy. Stan Lee would do that but having Tom Holland sign is just ridiculously short sighted. Would most collectors seek out or even accept a copy signed by Nicholas Hammond? Before you Google it, he played Peter Parker/Spider-Man on the 1970s TV show. Would anyone want one signed by Tobey Maguire? I've got a copy of Pizzazz signed by Hammond (he's on the cover) but I've never found any book signed by Maguire. I sure wouldn't want to drop the cash on an AF #15 signed by him. |

In most cases, the tough actors (Hugh Jackman comes to mind for some reason) appear on very short notice or even with no notice so whatever book is at hand has to do. I've got a Tales of Suspense #65 signed by Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving. The signing was announced at the show and the book is a 4.0, so it's not a real investment grade issue. I'm sure the person who had it done found the first book that they could featuring Cap and Red Skull on the cover. |

I remember seeing a Giant Size X-men #1 and on the first page it was inscribed "I didn't do this. John Byrne". That's worse than a Stan Lee signed Batman comic, but not as bad as a Tom Holland AF15.

Not quite the same, but I saw a counterfeit Cerebus #1 that was signed "Frazetta." I think it was on the first page but wasn't graded. I was told Dave Sim would sign the counterfeits with the wrong name but that Frazetta was his favorite.

“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Amazing Fantasy 15 signed by Tom Holland. I watched C-Bills glitter in the dark before Rob Liefeld would sign my copy of New Mutants 87. All those moments will be lost in time, like the value of Amazing Spider-Man 800 Variant covers. Time to die.” - A Comic Collector, 2018
