This cover represents the prevailing environmental fear of the time. Scientists believed we were heading into another ice age. This was actually the dominant scientific thought right up to the early 80's. I remember after we had several bad winters in the mid 70's, reading articles that were saying we were in the beginning throes of this coming ice age. Soon the gears switched and for the last three decades it's been all about global warming (renamed "Climate Change" as of late).

	I'm back from Chicago Wizard and mildly surprised to see the pulp page has gone quiet. Alas, only the faint sound of crickets can be heard in the background. There's bound to be a few more pulp fans/collectors on this board. Maybe folks following this thread are taking a long siesta.
