I've been toying with the idea of getting a Punisher commission from Ramona Fradon. I've searched high and low and couldn't find any example where she'd drawn him before. So I decided to go for it. We'll see how it turned out in about a month. Hopefully.

Just in today!!! going to get framed on the weekend maybe??
This was offered through CGC so I got 2 magazine size done (since CBCS doesn't have that size) and this!!

I know this is like the 1 sketch he does but damned!!! I love it!!!
Little bit of finer pencil still left that doesn't quite show on the scan

This is on...I don't know...golden age backing board?? 7 3/4 x 10 1/2

I have 2 Aquaman and 1 Aqualad sketch from Ramona - even at her age she is doing great work!! I should probably get something else - just cant think what....Black Manta maybe??

@KatKomics What I don’t understand is that Beckett has a magazine-sized holder, so why doesn’t CBCS use it (but with their label), at least until they get their version done? My only thought could be that maybe it’s not designed for protection to a sufficient standard (the inner well looks a bit iffy) but that seems like an easier hurdle to jump than going 6 years without a magazine-sized holder.

Sure CBCS could announce a magazine-sized slab tomorrow as one has been rumored for the end of the year but even then, they’ve been owned by Beckett for years now and it really seems they could’ve brought a much-needed service to market some time ago but just haven’t for some reason.

@poka I've always been a big fan of his. He's done a couple of Kabuki sketches for me and it's amazing to watch him work. The way he draws is really unique.

@poka Awesome! I’ve spoken to him at SDCC about doing a piece but I haven’t been able to get a hold of him since all the conventions have been cancelled (except LA Comic Con, apparently. That’s Madness!)

This is a bit different because its not a 2D piece and it's not new. It's new to me again because it's been covered by a blanket since its covered with sheet lead. I didn't want my last dog to lick it but I decided today that in a bizarro world lead might help Heinz. Under all the lead is a fiberglass body that was initially used to make a mold for a bronze casting. My friend knew he was never going to use it to cast bronze again so he sat down and layered it with lead.

I forgot to mention he was my boss as well. Going thru school I got a job as a lab tech and the guy that made this was the shop superintendent if you will. One night he gives me my list of shit to do and he says "get rid of that". I ask "what do you mean throw it in the dumpster?". He replied I don't care get rid of it.

Dumpster dive in 2003, uncovered in 2020....

That's a cool commission. A Barman piece by him sold in the last Comic Link auction.

@poka Why do you think there is so much variance in Davis Mack's pricing in the market? Some of his items go for amazing prices and others are very affordable.

Don't have it in hand yet, but I've got this on the way:

It's Werther Dell'Edera's original cover art from Something is Killing the Children #11.

So I just received this stunning Bruce Timm drawn Vampirella pin-up in the mail. I have wanted a piece of Bruce Timm original art for some time, but for it to be of Vampirella is a dream come true. This rendition is probably the best I have ever seen from him (in my opinion). It's so sultry and dangerous at the same time. I'm overjoyed to have this in my collection now!

Albert Moy has been dropping a ton of a Timm art lately. I wonder what's up....besides capitalism.

@Darkga Wow! Incredible!! congrats!! I've wondered about collectors who collect original art. Do you hang your pieces up or are they stored like comics? If stored, is it in bags and boards too?

@Darkga - That's an awesome piece, Harold! When you mentioned a while back that you were asking Bruce Timm for a Vampirella drawing, and I was wondering what he would come up with. I am completely blown away! And if you look at his signature, it almost looks like "Bite" or "Bitten" if you glance quickly at it.

I usually rotate them out between the wall and storage. Archival materials are used in either situation.

Wall - This would be framed with acid-free mats and UV acrylic glazing

Storage - Stored in an Itoya art binder with acid-free sheets. Something like this would be in a Mylar, before being slid into the sheet as well.

Oh I was not lucky enough to get on the commission list. This is a commission he did for someone else, but it PERFECTLY captures what I would have wanted, so I was happy to buy it.

So cool! Killer piece!!! I'm a big Bruce Timm fan but must admit almost solely because of Batman TAS. I don't know much else of what he's done but that Vampirella piece is stunning!!
