@Siggy Nice score on the Vigil's!!!! I love his work!!! I want to eventually get a nice inked piece of his to add to my collection. I have some prelim drawings in pen that he did, but nothing of the quality you just shared!!!

I kept forgetting to post these ... From HeroesCon in Charlotte this year. The first one is an up-and-comer named AC Zamudio and she is fantastic. I got this one for my dad for Father's Day. He doesn't really know anything (or care) about comics. So, jokingly, I asked him if he wanted me to get him a comic book from the convention. Joking right back he said, "Sure! How about Superman number one?"

Little did he know, there are LOTS of Superman #1's out there. So I picked one up and commissioned this sketch for him, and was just blown away at how well it turned out.

The second one is from Jeff Dekal. He's a great artist, as I'm sure many of you know, and he's also a really nice guy. Reserved, but very good natured, very equanimous. He's also quite picky about commissions. First off he said, only head shots for a comic blank. What? Oh, boy ... there go three of my ideas. So I came up with another suggestion. Nope, not her. Okay, how about [ ... ]? Well, I COULD do her, but with just the head, could you really tell who it was? Oh, right. Okay, maybe [ ... ]?

Anyway, he finally agreed to do this one. I'm curious, though, how obvious it is to everyone who she is? (But I do LOVE the way it turned out.)

@Tedsaid I do like that Superman!!! I like the art style the artist used. It kind of reminds me of the old parody and spoof comics that Cracked did in the '70's. And the Black Canary is quite an intriguing piece. It has a sophisticated feel to it. I feel like I should be in a tux to even look at it!!! And I like that he is basically highlighting the neck. Not many artists would do that. It's kind of a ballsy move, but it works very well in this instance. Overall, I think you got two great pieces there!! Good job!

Who is Vantana? I haven't heard of her. But she looks a lot like Zatanna?

Just set up another commission with Ron Frenz. Hopefully I'll be able to share it by Christmas. I'll be setting up a commission with Keith Pollard soon, as well.

"St. Stephen" from the Greatful Dead Almanac OA by the great Tim Truman. So happy to have gotten this as it may be the last piece he does for them since Robert Hunter (lyricist for the GD) has just passed away and Tim stated to me that he only did them because Robert loved Tim's work on them. I now own 7 pieces from the Almanac

Is anyone familiar with other work done by Ron Willliams or perhaps what he has had published or is he a fly by nighter

@Darkseid_of_town I tried googling him and found an art page and some other random things. I'm guessing he's an artist but hasn't done actual comic work.

No guarantees on results. The art kinda looks like his, but I'm not a very good eye for different artist styles. The last link is a you tube link. Truth be told, I didnt watch it completely.

The HA.com Sunday comic auction had this page for sale tonight.

clickable text

Anyone know if Liefeld drew it? Maybe somebody with a twitter account can ask him? Anybody know anything about that issue, if he drew pages in it, and if he drew that page? Iā€™d like to know if I should have bought that page and if I should be on the lookout for others from that issue. Any help would be appreciated.

@Towmater I find the Marvel fan wiki to be pretty good about art credits. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Cable_Vol_1_4 . Liefeld definitely drew in the issue (as the auction says, it thanks him 'for the art assist') but hard to say what he drew without asking someone who worked on the book.

As you can see, the book thanks him for the art assist. I wonder if he did full pages or something like finishes on certain pages?
