TREASURY RAW GRADED CBCS6764

Pictures? We don't need no stinking pictures. brysb private msg quote post Address this user
Is this allowed, not allowed? I am new here and the only thread I found relevant was labelled as "ARCHIVED". Ok, I just recently purchased 2 BATMAN Limited Collectors' Edition CBCS RAW graded books. I LOVE THEM!!! I wanted to share my picture here...

Thanks CC. I live in Illinois and visited my local comic shop 2 days ago and was talking about treasury sized books and the counter guy was telling me..."can't get rid of those things, had a NM copy of Star Wars Treasury and it was displayed forever...marked it down to $20 and finally unloaded it". Now understand, it was NOT raw graded or anything. But the problem seemed to be that the size was too big and there was no market for it?

All it is, is a cheaper way to get a book professionally graded. It comes with tamper-evident seals on the bag. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe raw grade comes with a restoration check. The target market for raw grade is for people who never intend to sell but want a professionally opinioned grade.

EDIT: Here's what the site says about Raw Grade:

STANDARDS
All Books submitted under the Raw Grade service are evaluated by CBCS graders using the same CBCS grading standards applied to traditional grading. The grade assigned represents the condition of book at the time of grading.

COST EFFECTIVE
The Raw Grade service provides buyers with assurance as to the condition of the book at a much lower cost, Modern books are $10, and Expanded is $15.

MORE OPTIONS
Comic Books, Magazines, and Treasury edition books can all be graded under the Raw Grade service.

Raw Grade is a service that is an inexpensive and fast method of providing customers with independent third-party grading for comic books, magazines or treasury edition books.

This service is designed for customers who are looking for a fast and reliable grade that will help these collectors assess their books without incurring the full cost associated with traditional grading and encapsulating.

Books graded using the Raw Grade service are evaluated, graded and placed in a Mylar bag with a backing board. The grade is displayed on a sticker that is adhered to the front of the Mylar bag. The bag is also sealed with two tamper-evident stickers on the back. The stickers are not tamper-proof. We only guarantee that the book returned is the book sent in and that the grade given was the grade assigned at the time of evaluation.

The Raw Grade service does not include a restoration check but will note obvious defects. It is strictly an evaluation of the book’s condition at the time of grading.

The Raw Grade service is not meant to provide long-term protection for comics. Customers wanting to have their books graded and protected should utilize our traditional grading service.

One important feature of the Raw Grade service is that it can be utilized in conjunction with CBCS’s Grade Screen option. When chosen during the submission process, any book that fails its CBCS Grade Screen can automatically be graded using the Raw Grade service.

Raw Grade service offers more options for collectors

MAGAZINE AND TREASURE EDITION
The Raw Grade service provides collectors with the ability to grade Treasury Edition, Magazines as well as Comic Books

SEALED
Each Raw Grade book is sealed with a tamper evident sticker.

Right now it is the ONLY professional grading option from any company for Treasury-sized books. And due to their size, slabbing will likely never be an option for them (can you imagine the weight of a few Treasury slabs?).
Hopefully CBCS will offer magazine slabbing in the near future (unfortunately with CBCS, soon takes way to long).
