This is another comic I got 15+ years ago and I found amongst my comics in storage, however this one I dont even remeber owning. It was bought at some point with the signature.

wow, that looks like a really shady attempt at a Todd McFarlane signature

I'm not an expert on all of McFarlane's sigs over the years, but I've never seen one like this.

Check the back of the book for a spider web stamp. McFarlane signed a bunch of each cover of #1 when it was released and stamped them on the back cover.

I was going to say the same thing...it looks like one of the McFarlane promotion signatures from 1990...although most I've seen were in gold.

Looks legitimate to me. Looks like the ones I got when Spider-man 1 came out.

He signed the green cover in silver, the silver and black cover in gold.

I took it out of the bag and it had the stamp on the back.

From my best experience it definitely doesn't seem legit. His signature has been pretty standard across the board and hasn't changed much.

As others have said that is his early 90's signature and looks fairly consistent with each of the spider's web copies I have seen.

I'd hate to think that McFarlane might be out there forging his own signature. That would suck.
