Why would anyone want to pursue scary, bouncing, ugly balls?
And, who thought it was a good idea to have scary, ugly balls and candy in the same ad?

They were pretty popular for a minute in the late ‘80s.

He finds them on cows tails? 1. Why is he behind a cow?🤔 2. Wouldn’t the be 💩 balls?/ mad balls were pretty cool, they reissued a couple years ago. And they had comics also, a few times. Last in 2016 I think

Yeah, I know about them. It's the ad that has me scratching my head.
Who, at the candy company thought that was a good idea.
"Yeah, Bob ! that's a great idea. Whenever anyone thinks about our candy, let's get them thinking about scary, ugly balls!"

Kids like candy, kids like gross ugly stuff... it’s not really that big of a stretch.

Although I doubt he has anything to do with that ad, it looks like something Brad McGinty would do.

https://glorpgum.com/

His animation...

He has written a Madballs comic.

I have some of his early self-published work.
I have his DVD.

Bonkers were one of my favorite candies growing up. Ugly Balls must've been to mad balls what grossville high was to garbage pail kids.
