New CGC holder with old label?664

How did this book come into existence?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/322175982007
This book has an old label but is way too new to have gotten an old label. Also it looks like it's in the new holder. I'm not sure if it's the old new or the new new.

These caused a pretty big stir as most people where having to deal with the new holders and were told the old supplies were gone then all of a sudden a select few peoples books started to show up in the old style even though most everyone else had new holder problems

There doesn't appear to be an external top label which is why I am thinking it's a new external shell. But even if this book was reholdered in an old case, why the old label? This book came out after the new label was introduced.

Looks like CGC was playing favorites. And look at the profit to be made, $250 for a $3 comic (not counting slabbing).

That comic was never $3. The preorder was $14.99 and sold out in hours.

That was the price to collectors. What was the cost to the dealers?

That $14.99 was the cost to everyone. That book is the AspenStore.com exclusive. Everyone had the same shot at the price, fastest internet wins. That book also crashed the Aspen server and caused them to do a server upgrade. Of course the next day flippers had it up on eBay for $50+ right after.

No favoritism, it was walkthrough service and I paid extra (a lot) for the quicker service. Dropped them off, went to lunch, came back a few hours later and the books were ready. The books came back in the older holder just like blazingbob's Showcase #4 he listed above which was a walkthrough as well - probably because they were just about to transition to the modified holder.

Also - this book didn't crash the Aspen Server. The one that crashed the Aspen Server was the ASM 15 Turner which went up for pre-sale a few weeks later. They did a server upgrade just before the Justice League sale went up last Sunday.

Isn't paying extra for walkthrough service to get a desired result the epitome of favoritism?

Paying for a service that both companies provide can not be called favoritism.

CBCS version is called "1-day" (same day service).

If CBCS or CGC would do this at a basic tier service & cost, and do the turnaround same day - that would be favoritism.

It was a rhetorical question. The walkthrough service isn't the focus of my observation.

My point is that CGC trying to address holder issues while concerned patrons look over their shoulders creates the appearance of favoritism, lunch break notwithstanding.

It is impressive that CGC was able to produce old label "transition" holders for walkthrough customers when supposedly no more were in stock.

So it wasn't favoritism but how can it be explained when they were telling people the old holder was not an opinion. Then it became an opinion but only for certain things. I really don't care if it was walk-thru or regular modern and I'm sure all the people that have new holders that they're not sure what to do with don't care either they have to deal with what a lot of people think was a defective product and you don't

I'd have to side with BeachBum on this one... He paid a high premium to get his book encased. New slab, old slab or whatever, her paid. Why give him a hard time? CGC is the Darth Vader here, not him. He certainly seems th know what he's talking about. The ASM 15, the server, seems to have factual, up to date, knowledgeable information.

Just because you pay a higher premium for quick serve to be first to market with something doesn't give the customer any say what they get for a returned product from a impartial 3rd party grading company as a matter of fact CGC employees should have no idea who's book they are working on so it's safe to say Beachbum had no idea this book was coming back in a old style because if he did then there was favoritism and cgc should have been in contact with every owner of every book encapsulated from before that point forward to see if they also wanted a old style holder but I don't think they did that
