It was. The only thing halfway challenging was dreaming it up. Look closely at the staples. They've been removed and replaced, and none too adroitly.
And the tan pages with a gloriously white inside front cover.
Before you even get into the double pierced bottom staple holes, if you've seen and held a few million Silver and Bronze age books, it becomes immediately apparent that this 1981 book is assembled like a silver age book, thus giving it the same attributes. Top edge overhang, pages visible at the bottom, cover's right edge slanted, the inside pages exposed more at the top than at the bottom (almost flush at the bottom right corner yet cover short, left to right, at the top).
Incorrect cover or not, Bronze age books aren't produced with silver age edge characteistics. |
