I haven't received anything from AOD yet, they are located in Canada though, so factor that in as well.

Anyone else quite amazed this is the most popular thread on here by a long way?
I just don't get it... Why is Harley Quinn so popular? I spent £260 on BA#12 last week and I regretted it instantly! Anyone wants it for what I paid it's yours

I got my Comic Mint box today. I chose to get the Batman box and I must say I am very impressed and happy with the comics they included. The total value of the Batman books alone were worth the price I paid, plus I got the two Harley's on top of that. They also threw in an extra mystery comic.

Because of her mammary glands and gluteus maximus. If she didnt have those fanboys wouldn't care. If she still looked like she does on the cover of Mad Love, would fanboys be shelling out hundreds of dollars for variant covers? I think not.

I just have to say that this is a very shallow view of Harley's success and not even accurate. There are a TON of female comic book characters that are more physically appealing than Harley, IMO. If hot looks was all it took for a characters success, there would be a lot more comics from the 90's around. No, there is more to Harley then her looks. It IS her character that is so endearing. She is the "bad girl", "daddy's girl" and "insane freak" all rolled up into one. There is a complexity to her that is alluring. She is mysterious, dangerous, and flirty. She is everything your parents warned you to stay away from. It is human nature for us to be a bit rebellious, curious and danger seekers. In my opinion, her character resonates on some basic level with people. Like Marilyn Monroe, men want her and women want to be her. That may all sound like psychobabble, but all great fictional characters are the ones who find a way to resonate with their audience on a human level. She does that.

...what Jesse said AND she is a fun character! I checked out all of her Batman animated series episodes before I started reading her comics. My niece (pictured below) loves her, too.

@Jesse_O All that and I would add that she's not just a bad girl or a daddy's girl, she's also very sweet and tragic. She's certainly not malicious like the Joker but she's still capabale of heinous things but you can also see her going straight if not for her own flaws making that so difficult for her. At the same time, she's more than willing to step up and be the hero like when she tried saving Bruce Wayne in the Valentine's Day special or tried to form a super hero duo with Power Girl (granted she may have had some ulterior motives with that one).

And yes the book is very fun. It dips into some risquee situations at points but does more for fun and funny.

On a less positive note, I should add that Harley also has a lot of fans due to their misinterpretation of her relationship with the Joker; painting it as some sort of "true love between messed up people," which is easy for angsty teenagers to relate to, as opposed to the abusive, one-sided relationship the creators actually intended.

Fortunately the comics haven't really lost sight of that and have had Harley build a life for herself completely separate from the Joker. Sure she'll always be tied to him in one way or another, but she has dealt with not just establishing her own identity, but also directly confronting the Joker and breaking away from him.

I have to agree, Harley is a very complex character full of nuance and depth. She is equal parts crazy, sexy and cool with a large serving of tragic on the side. She has become her own character after breaking away from the Joker and has become a strong female character that fans (male and female alike) can relate to and look up to. She is much more than her looks however those do make her all the more alluring and desirable (again, to male and female alike)

I think because of all her psychological complexities and all that has been and has yet to be explored, she can connect with so many different types of fans for various reasons and it is this that is why her appeal and fan base have grown tremendously.

Harley reminds me of a quote I heard once, "The harder I try to be good, the worse I am"

I have been a fan of Harley for years. Never as an "object" I look at her as the DC version of Deadpool, (not the knowing you are in a comic, that's ambush bug.) Ambush Bug had allegedly broken the 4th wall, but he knew a guy whos cousin was portugese and a hell of a mason (he did work on the side, gave me a great deal on my walkway out to the garden, beautiful pavers)and he fixed the 4th wall. Oh, Harley.

Yea, I like Harley because she is fun. It's all about fun. Stop being weirdo perverts

Never heard of Abbas discount. Was it damaged by the post office or damaged by the seller?

I got my replacement earlier this week for the one that was damaged. The replacement is probably a 9.6, but they included another black and white copy for free, so I'm not complaining. Haha.
