Yeah, not really impressed either. They're supposed to be badasses, but they don't look that way. http://www.legacycomics.com/shop/suicide-squad-1-limited-edition-comix-exclusive-joshua-middleton-variant/ |

So does anyone know from which Michael Turner sketchbook the Harley Quinn sketch comes from?

@JazzyJeffie I'm not sure which one it's originally (it would have to be post 2003) from but it's included in both of the following books: |

Thanks @dielinfinite. I'm asking, because there's a conspiracy theory going on in some circles.. that it was a rehashed Witchblade sketch, but since you already showed a reference to an existing Harley sketch, I'm good.

@dielinfinite Here's the exact post: "Interesting...I keep hearing about how this was originally some Lara Croft Tomb Raider pic that Turner did but was redone to make the Harley cover." So, yeah, it's on the internet as a posted rumor. I'll look forward to someone possibly sharing by scanning an actual copy from the sketchbook. |

Ok, utilized my searching skills more, and found that it's a valid Turner sketch: So is the Batman: But the Batman looks slightly restructured from that sketch to the cover, don't you think? |

@JazzyJeffie lol so you found the pics I posted. Anyways, the Batman sketch is similar, which is to be expected from the same artist, but not the one used for the batman cover. The sketch has batman in an almost perfect profile while he is slightly turned toward the camera on the Aspen cover. |

@JazzyJeffie That one doesn't look inked, just raw pencils. The color version was colored by Peter Steigerwald |

@dielinfinite Any chance you might be able to find the sketch for the Suicide Squad cover? The teaser showed a close up of the Joker.

@DarthLego Is this the image you saw for the suicide squad cover? I'll take a look through the books a little later tonight to see if it's in there. |

@DarthLego So I couldn't find that exact sketch but it does look like a refined version of a convention sketch he would do sometimes. This is from the Tribute book: @JazzyJeffie it looks like the Aspen cover sketch is in the Complete Sketchbook book |

Most of the work that Aspen is using is coming from his convention sketchbooks from 2006-2008 time period and both SDCC and NYCC
