I just ordered Amanda Conner's Harley Quinn #1 exclusives. They are from Emerald City Comics. I am not sure if I am supposed to have a link, but here it is. If it is against some rule, let me know. http://shop.emeraldcitycomics.com/EC-Exclusives-/index.php |

@DarthLego @dielinfinite You are welcome. It is a little different since it basically for that store. However, Amanda is one of my faves!!

What gets me about Aspen...the friggin print run was never the problem. The problem was them letting scalpers buy up multiple copies and causing fans to miss out. Had a strict limit been imposed from the get go after seeing what happened to both the Batman and the ASM15, the fiasco would have been avoided.

Hopefully the next ones go smoothly like today's Batman did.

By announcing and selling an original small print run, then increasing it, then decreasing it, they kept making things worse. |

It's the only Harley Quinn #1 with Power Girl on it that I've seen.

I disagree about them making it worse. I think pulling the Puddin back to the original 1000 was the right thing to do. I wish they would have pulled back on the others as well. 9000 is rediculously large for what was suposed to be a rare limited book. I would have been happy with them settling on 6000. Double would have been much better than triple and still would be plently to satisfy fans who missed out. Well as it stands I'm satisfied enough to keep my order.

@DarthLego that JL is a far better cover than the Harley. Although batman has a forehead the size of Texas.

Quote:Originally Posted by DarthLego I can appreciate that but by doing what they did, they potentially screwed and / or disappointed some people multiple times. Once they announced that they were releasing additional copies, damage was done and it wasn't going to be totally corrected no matter what they did. I guess the right thing to do depends on a particular collectors point of view. It will be interesting to see what happens with today's sale and their review of the orders that have been placed. |

Out of boredom, I just checked the Aspen website and they still have both covers available. I wonder if that's because the demand wasn't that big originally or if collectors got annoyed and decided to pass.

A big part of the reason the demand was so high was because people thought they were getting a 3000 run book on the regular cover. Aspen failed to grasp that just because 9000 people want a 3000 run book doesn't mean 9000 people are going to want that same book at the same price with a 9000 run. They effectively devalued that book by 66% overnight and they are clueless as to why people are mad about that.

@DarthLego I think you nailed it. 9000 people might have wanted a 3000 print run book but 9000 people might not necessarily want a 9000 print run book.

It's kind of fun seeing the completed ebay listings. Wheere someone paid $225 on Monday just for the hatless cover while today, someone paid $150 for the the Puddin Pack set. How sellers will move the color variant at $40 or even $25 is beyond me |

They said they only received hundreds of emails and messages. even if 300 people ordered 2 sets of each, that's only 7 colored versions. That's 2100 extra books they could have printed, or doubled their initial run. Tripling it just caused the market value on the book to tank.

They sent me my cancellation notice, so there's 4 colors and 2 more B&W available.

If they had just bumped the original color to 6000 and left everything else alone and just said they were extending the sale on that one cover, I bet there would have been minimal backlash. It was just boneheaded thinking.

Quote:Originally Posted by dielinfinite North America: 3250 color / 2300 copic, still a respectable number if you just look at North America. I can't hold this against Legacy when the other regions will probably be visually identifiable versions for each region and possibly not even in English. At least they didn't announce numbers and then announce new numbers like Aspen. |

I can only imagine they got word from the printer that something went wrong with a batch of 200. But if that was the case why wouldn't the printer just reprint the 200 to replace them and make the run correct?
