Protecting Jeweled Comics6399

Collector fivestar private msg quote post Address this user
Just picked up my first jeweled comic and it's my understanding that they aren't eligible for grading (please, correct me if I'm wrong on that). My question is what's the best way to protect a jeweled comic other than the default bag/board if encapsulation isn't an option?

A top loader should work.

I had considered that, just wasn't sure if there would be too much play.

If it will fit in a top loader, shouldn't it fit for encapsulation? Is it just a matter of not wanting to assume the risk that a crystal comes off the book during grading/encapsulation?

@fivestar What some guys do is first slide it in a Mylar with backing board and then slide that into a top loader.

Love that cover. Especially the color scheme.

How many "gems" are on the cover? Are they rhinestones, glass, metal, or what (if you can tell)?
