I am still trying to find the reason why WW was in 1984. You could have made that movie during anytime and used the same plots. Was there 1 80s song? That was supposed to be Reagan? I am not too familiar with the villains and their origins. I have a basic understanding of Cheetah. I would assume her origin was way off. What about the other guy?

Maybe we should make a separate thread with spoilers.

Pretty disappointed in WW 1984. Words that come to mind are cheesy, mediocre, and deja vu all over again. They tried too hard to repeat some of the best moments of the first film, and used the 1980’s for nostalgia laughs and to switch “roles” with Diana and Steve. Supposedly they were also trying to capture the feel of some of the early Superman movies from that time period. The best moments were between Steve and Diana, but I was uninvested in the other characters. Gal Gadot is still an incredible WW, but I really disliked the CGI final version of Cheetah and her big fight with WW. Maxwell Lord was an uninspiring character that has been seen in too many other stories. There was nothing original in his depiction (but I love the actor in the Mandolorian). I might watch it again just for Gal Gadot, but hell I’d watch a show about how to make yarn from lint if she was in it.

A plug for Stargirl to anyone who hasn't seen it; I was absolutely blown away by it, and I find most shows like it all but unwatchable. (I got through one episode apiece of Supergirl and Batwoman, and 0 of Flash, Arrow, Smallville, Riverdale, etc.)

There may never be another episode of the series due to star Bassinger's health vulnerabilities (she has type 1 diabetes & therefore serious COVID concerns), but if one season is all we ever get, I'll take it!

If it ends up a one season phenom, it would be the greatest single year TV series since Forever's epic year-long run, that being another one season wonder absolutely worth the watch for anyone who doesn't know about it.

I have what would have been some good books for sale on MCS signed my Mr. Perez.....but noooooo they had to launch a stinker of a movie (par for the course with DC).....oh well....either let them sit for sale....or I guess go on auction??? even ship back home???

Free (with ads) on the Peacock streaming service (again, free) is AP Bio. I'm not sure what to compare this to. Comedy, sort of a dark comedy, I guess, but not too dark. Very off beat. Give it a few episodes to see if it your thing.

Truth Seekers on Amazon Prime. I watched all 8 episodes over the past week and enjoyed it. Hey a show by Nick Frost & Simon Pegg, about ghosts, throw in Malcolm McDowell, what's not to like?

I just got done with Quenn's Gambit on Netflix. I liked it but it is a little slow moving. If you like chess, then it is a must see.

Finally got around to watching Westworld Season 3. I still have no idea why whoever was in charge decided to have Westworld not take place in Westworld. Very poor planning. There could have been so many more interesting stories. They progressed the story way too quickly and now the show has lost a lot of its mystery/luster. Definitely already jumped the shark.

@moodswing I've had season 3 for quite a while but haven't watched it. I was hoping they would continue going to other time/period pieces. (I remember watching the movie as a kid, with Yul Brenner.) I did like the first 2 seasons though.

@OGJackster

Yeah, I wanted them to do so much more within the park. They had limitless possibilities on different locations and scenarios. I will finish the season as it isn't that bad just not anywhere close to how good the first season was.

Ufff not sure about this WandaVision. I doubt I am going to watch the next episodes. Just not for me.

I'd like to hear more opinions and see if I'm out of mind or not.

I don't think I've watched a b&w sitcom since Leave it to Beaver about 35 year ago. .and at least that had Eddie Haskell

@the420bandito Haven't watched any yet, but the review I read (based on the first three episodes) said that they do kind of a tribute to TV in general. First episode is a B&W sitcom, second is maybe more of a 70s sitcom, and then more of a horror bit. The third apparently drops a bigger clue that things are going to take a turn.

Only watched the 1st episode so far...based on the previews I think this is a slow burn....don't forget..TV pacing is different (just the nature of the beast when you need XXX episodes per season)

Trust in Marvel/Disney.....down with DC/Warner!!!!(you dirty MF's!! you ruin almost everything DC you touch!!)

I have HBO for a couple months. I've been watching Doom Patrol. Didn't love it at first but it gets better with each episode. Episode 7 in particular was brilliant and had me laughing out loud by the end. If you have access, please just skip to episode 7 and watch it first, it's worthy of awards. The acting is remarkably good, particularly the characters of Robotman (A very funny Brendan Frasier) and Jane (who has 64 different personalities, some with super-powers). It does a great job of capturing the Silver Age DC feel. Whenever I watch it I get an urge to buy comic books for some reason.

I really liked Mystery Men and think its underrated. The satire and parodying of superheroes was probably ahead of its time and would probably be much better received now than it did when it was released.

Well, I think the first 2 episodes of Wandavision were really stupid. I think the show would have benefited from releasing it all at once. Very disappointed so far.
