But I decided to wait, and pick other comics to send with them over the weekend instead. I'm glad I didn't, because that would make it way more complicated. It does make me curious though, if this was a problem with a lot of customers, and how many of them owned up to it. Probably, once they discovered the mistake, they know exactly who got the wrong issues. |

8 - bit covers are the worst. Hows everyone going with their variant covers.. ASM 800 was my last, and I imagine last for quite a while.. ( though I do get the a and b covers for Isola.. Does that count? ) Saving my $$$ for spawn #300 and #301 when I might go a bit silly. Nostalgia is so good at shutting down brain cells long enough to make irrational splurges. |

Update: I have not bought anymore variants or store variants. I did cheat once and did a TRADE for 2 slabs (RAM #1 CGC 9.4 SS Roiland, and 1 CGC 9.8 ASM797 Mayhew) for my 1 raw signed ASM129. Technically I didn't buy it. Plus I already had a raw one, I wanted a 9.8. |

I haven't bought any variants in 2 months. The last variant I purchased was Black Panther #170 and that's only because I liked the Hulk variant on the cover. Tomorrow I plan to pick up only original covers, no variants.

6.0-6.5 signed by Stan Lee and Gerry Conway. It had a 5.0 red label cbcs but I opened it and cleaned/pressed the book. It was sent off for grading so we will know soon within a week or so now

We'll see if I can win this...does it count as a variant?? (1966 Golden Record version - no record though) Bottom right corner got smushed - thinking 7.0 tops?? |

Speaking of off the hook #’s of variants I just looked at this new Kirkman book the Hillary Clinton. Die. Die. Die. 11 variants. And the only difference is the word bubbles 10 different and one without This is really getting to be a joke. I was going to buy one just to say I have one. But now it’s a pass for me. I mean. WOW. |

Die Die Die was a gimmick book and it really worked. It made people go to there comic book stores. There are actually 12 announced covers for Die Die Die #1. |

9 world bubble variants plus 1 that adds "I'm Drunk" to the bottom and the gold foil cover. So how many are out there of each book? Well, the books shipped match each store's initial order number for Oblivion Song #1. According to ComiChron, Oblivion Song shipped 80,287 copies to retailers. That means DieDieDie's total print run is 80,287. If the Gold Foil is 'One Per Store' that means we can subtract 3500 from that total. so then we divide by 10 for the rest Total Print Run = 80,287 Gold Foil "one per store" = 3,500 Each Bubble = 7679 But yeah with an 85K print run, it's not exactly a rare book. It was cool of Kirkman to surprise people with the book but don't expect it to be the next Walking Dead #1 (which had a TOTAL print run of 7,266 (based on est. units shipped to retailers in 10/03)) |
