Says the guy who sells hot keys without looking at them.

Is this why you can't see it from the buyer's POV? You haven't found problems with your raw purchases because you don't look?

Not sure how drchaos waiting 20 days (of a 30 day return policy) is seen as worse than that.

LOL That is funny. Then he says, "What do you think this is? eBay?" And he'd be right.

It's the policy of the place you decided to sell- Their house, their rules. If you don't like the rules (assuming you looked), don't use them. Find a place that ends the transaction the day the item is delivered.

He didn't "pull the trigger on a not as described claim before contacting the seller." He did it after he hadn't heard back from him by the next day.

As the saying goes... pics or it didnt happen.

In other words, you're suggesting that drchaos could have made it up.

Maybe he is. But that's what "benefit of the doubt" is for. I give you more benefit of the doubt because I have dealt with you for the past two years, and vice versa.

As far as "not stating what was wrong until pressed for pages of text about it"...that's not what I see at all. That's like the question "have you stopped beating your wife yet?" Just because someone doesn't lay out the entire case in the first post doesn't therefore mean they had to be pressed for it. Just because he didn't respond to you...and Lord knows, I've not responded to you purposely before...doesn't mean he's hiding anything.

You guys routinely bitch and moan about posts that are "walls of texts", anyways.

But the clincher is that the seller gave up any and all right to challenge drchaos' claim by readily confessing that he never inspected the book in the first place.

Another thing.
DONT THROW ME IN THE SPOTLIGHT HERE!
IM NOT THE ONE THATS WINDOW SHOPPING AND STEPPING ALL OVER SELLERS ON EBAY!

Here is a story I just wrote and your the main character:
Hey, let me buy a comic book from a seller on eBay. Once it arrives, I'll check to see if I can press and dry clean it, or hey, lets get a copy I already own since mines in VF/NM condition and swap it for one thats in NM condition and return mine in the place of the better conditioned one. I'll say it must have gotten damaged in shipping or even better.... it wasn't as described! HA HA.
Oh yeeeeeaaaahhhhh.... *rubs hands together greedily while hunched over laptop on eBay*

Then I will wait for a bout a month then hit the seller with a return! Maybe during that time the seller was down on his luck and had to use his money reserves on lets say a medical emergency. GREAT! Now hes zero negative amount in PayPal and if I'm lucky the medical need would have been dire, and hes got no cash in the bank to cover the PayPal charge back so it then becomes NEGATIVE with more over draft charges! BWHAHAHAHAHA!
All I gotta do it play the victim to eBay, those bleeding heart-tards will give me what I want and I come out on top!
-The End

This has just jumped the shark into super-awesome territory.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
@GanaSoth You continue to deep digger and show a lack of character by attempting to falsely accuse me of doing things that are only in your imagination.

Sure hypothetically someone could attempt to do what you have described but the payoff for all of that work would be very small. Further, two comic books in the VF - VF/NM range would have several flaws that would not be on the other book. Someone with the skill-set to re-create all of the damage on those scans on a book that does not have them could make much more productive uses of their time.

You clearly have no class or integrity and karma will do to you whatever it is that you deserve.

@drchaos Thanks Your so sweet.
Also, the story was fiction. I was just showing everyone how crazy this is getting here... I'm really not going after you here, I was just being silly hence the VF/NM to NM condition and the medical emergency wishing; its just an absurd comical view point of a situation that could be. Glad you found that point though.

PS: My question still stands about the waiting till page #4 and after someone else brought up the stain first before you actually stated it had it, even though it was one of the main factors for the return.

BUT - the seller has already agreed (as if he had a choice) to the return your cash. So really this thread can shrivel up now I suppose. I was just stating what I observed about the stain thing.

If this seller has any brains...and that's HIGHLY debatable at this point...he'll stop posting in this thread entirely, pretend it never happened, and hope people don't remember this. He's done more damage to his reputation with this thread than anything it would have cost him to take the book back without a fuss.

And some of you are to blame for encouraging him...

This is one sin I will take the credit for. After his initial response can you really blame me?

No, I meant the people who 1. weren't paying attention to the details of the case, and as a result, 2. giving their support to this amateur.

Odd how anyone is positive drchaos is playing shenanigans on a book only he (and perhaps the guy going, "phew!" who sold it to masochism) examined.

What's the general opinion on sellers who sell hot keys without examining the interior, expecting buyers to accept them because... because?

drchaos waited until page four to mention the stain specifically. Did he need to be specific in this thread for his claim to be valid? Masochism (good name btw) waited until page 9 to mention he never examined what he insists was well represented.

That was a lucky roll of the dice, drchaos (sarcasm)

If masochism had inspected the book and described it accurately (for reals), this thread wouldn't exist.

True, but without the self-deprecating You Tube clip I attached to that, that quote just makes me sound like a bigger dick than I already am.

How I wish it didn't exist. The return was accepted and the goods boxed up pages and pages ago. From a sales/ebay point of view, they both screwed the pooch (seller should have examined the book before selling, buyer should have contacted the seller sooner, etc, etc). Everybody has their point of view on it. Learning experience for everybody, yada, yada, yada.

Can we please have mercy and stop beating this dead horse.
