Which book would you have Stan sign?5956

| I'm off to Woz's Silicon Valley Comic Con next weekend and am debating between two books to have Stan sign - Iron Man #1 (Stan edited/EIC) and Fantastic Four #67 (first full Him/Adam Warlock) (Stan wrote and edited/EIC). The former is probably around a 7.5-8.0, the latter an 8.5+. Aside from the "choose whichever you like/means more to you/etc," which is probably the best advice regardless, I'd love to hear the thoughts of serious collectors on the subject, either with regards to creating the greatest value, the more rare collectible, etc. Thanks all! |

| FF 67 would be my pick being he wrote it. However he did co-create Iron Man. And Iron Man#1 is an awesome book with a great Gene Colan cover. Have him sign both. | ||

| None I don't like people scribbling on my books. My search is for pristine unaltered books. A Stan Lee Signature is ANYTHING but rare. I would never give a premium for a signed book, In fact I would not ever buy book that has been de-faced with writing. Nice novelty items, but its not for me. |

| A friend of mine is going to this & offered to take one of my books for a sig. I'm considering it. I have an 8.5 x 11 reproduction of the original art for page 1 of AF 15. It strikes me as a good option only because it's somewhat unique & easy to frame & display. Then again, a low grade (3.0?) Tales to Astonish 44 might be a good alternative? |

| Yeah. There can be a significant jump in retail value with certain sigs, so, that is a factor. As far as personal preference, I'd rather invest in a higher grade book for the same price. I've decided to have my Tales To Astonish 44 signed only because the sale price in lower grade is almost double with Stan's sig. |

| I personally would have something signed that he wrote or where he appears on the cover. For the "collector" in me, I'd also have a copy of the same book without the signature, but again, that's just me. If you want something much more "unique", look at the stuff Stan wrote that isn't "hero" related. You'll be very surprised I would suspect once you find out all the stuff he's done. For example, did you know he wrote the stories in Terry Toons Mighty Mouse #1 comic in 1946? |
