The second thing I saw:
REFUND POLICY:

CBCS does not offer refunds on our condition appraisal service. All sales are final.

Estimates are exactly that. Estimates on TATs. They con't control outside factors that impact services rendered. Sure, hiring more staff alleviates some of the bottleneck but then you start telling them how to run their own company, a private company, that can do whatever they wish as long as services are eventually rendered.

Is this the actual document? I think I can see why some labels have misspellings. Ha

Just received an email stating that my books just "started" the grading process, that's 5+ months after I submitted my books in April, so that means with all the backlog that I won't see my books until the end of this year or the beginning of 2019.... that's 8+ months in total.. That's crazy... I feel everyone's pain right now, TAT 3 MONTHS, now who knows..

@Spc51 As previously stated, the auto-updates on status aren't working properly. Your books are currently showing as being in "Slab".

@moodswing

1) Everything looks to be in order to me, stated in standard legalese.

2) As far as label errors go, mistakes happen and when they do we correct them. Certainly you're not implying that you've never made a typographical error.

Is sumission a word? I am not an English teacher but I figured that should be submission right?

@moodswing It probably should be "submission", the text in question though would've been drafted by the legal firm representing CBCS, not the people doing data entry for labels. LOL

Couple of questions,

One, Does anyone know how they decide to work on some orders and not others? How do they make their queue? I submitted at the phx comicon in May and people are starting to get there standard books back. I paid for the same service, no pressing or signatures, but my dashboard/invoice has said processing since July.

Two, I’m on week 18-19 if they backtrack to when I submitted books at the show in May, but I’m week 13-14 if they use the July 5 date on my dashboard/invoice from when they entered the books into their system. What date do they use for an estimated timeframe? Thanks.

I used to read this thread to get an idea of where CBCS was in terms of completing orders. Now I read it to see how futile these arguments can get. Does anybody think that this complaining or threats of legal action/taking business elsewhere is getting anyone's orders expedited?

It's entertaining reading posts clearly written by conspiracy theorists that think the cbcs guys are sitting there thinking "man, these books backing up and pissing off customers is awesome. WE NEED MOAR!!!"

Again, they're sorting out their crap and things will get better. Until then, just be patient and wait. Or pay more and go faster.

The only people that know EXACTLY how the work flow queue is prioritized would be the people in management roles there and that are associated with getting books graded. But I can describe the process with about 95% accuracy because there are standard systems for this type of work that are widely deployed across most industries and even the service sectors.

They are generically referred to as work flow management systems. Stuff gets entered into the computer at the point of entry (receiving) From that point forward the system queues up work according to the programmed priorities. At each step whoever does whatever (grade, encapsulate, QC, Ship) enters when they have completed their part.

Managers can override or rearrange the queue. And there is often times a work flow management specialist whose job is to monitor the queue, make sure things are moving as they are supposed. Also able to make overrides or alterations to priority. For the managers, there is usually a variety of views - a broad overview (say displayed as color coded tasks - red late, yellow work coming up, green progressing as planned) and the ability to drill down and see ranges of or specific work.

As for you starting date. CBCS's normal standard is that books received at shows they attend have a "start" date of about a week after the show. I've seen the exact number of days stated but don't remember it. Maybe the Thursday following a show.

If you click on your invoice (shown here by the red arrow), a pdf file opens up with the true status of your order.

I think this needs to be posted every week. This is the only way to get real time updates. It might cut down on the number of missed calls too.

My dashboard updated today. I had press screen and have a new charge, so I think that means they were finally screened and I'm being billed for pressing. They were received April 17, so it took the 25 week TAT for pressing and grading just to get them screened.
