Did you pay for the 2 books in the past 2 weeks where this manual spike bid in the last 5 seconds failed you?

The $1200 "#2 TFTC that was worth $200" and whatever other book that you described your spiked bid backfired on you?

KM, you first stated it was you on post # 42 or #47, here:

I didn't miss that.

Far as TFTC and EC keys going up every year....well, look them up in GPA.

They aren't going up all that much.

But, hey....it's your money.

You do you, boo.

Yes, Logan510. The text in my last post after "@Flipper" was directed at you.

Your avatar , which has the word "Flipper" in it, is more memorable than "Logan510".

Of course, I could have scrolled back up and looked up the random 3 digits after "Logan" and typed out your user ID but I assumed you'd get the reference .....and I couldn't remember the numbers in your board handle after "Logan".

Instead of cluttering this thread up with a separate post, I used @Flipper to avoid quoting you formally.

No, that is not what happened.

I did/said nothing wrong.

Please do not attempt to put words in my mouth.

I commented the $399.99 bid for the SS #6 was shilltastic.

I made no mention of KaptainMyke participating in any shill bidding on that auction.

KaptainMyke than posted saying that the $399.99 bid was his and it was a spiked bid.

And so on, scroll back.

I did NOT "imply" KapatinMyke was shilling that auction, or the other #12 (Junkie cover) that KM also bid on at $199.99.

KM said "spiked bidding works on ebay".

My contention was that it does not work but to each his own.

I basically said that spiked bidding was in my opinion not the best way to buy books in auction.

But a bid of $399.99 is shilltastic.

Btw, KM and his spike bidding idea still makes no sense to me, at all.

Spike bidding works, most of the time. When it doesn't, I don't overpay. My estimates were almost right on the money but someone else wanted it more. Each and every time. And if you look at the Crypt of Terror #18 vs my actual max bid, I decided against that one because it was in Poor to Fair condition.

I am still failing to understand what you're problem is, kid.

Again, you are wrong.

On literally everything that you have said here, especially the bolded parts.

Kindly refer to post # 37 thru # 42.

As far as taking it to PM's:

No, I will not PM someone if they wrongly accuse of something that is patently false.

I was referring to your history of distinctly unpleasant comments posted about me, in this thread, and other threads on this board when I asked you if you had a problem with me, to PM me.

I literally have no personal issue with you, or KaptainMyke, for that matter. I have never met either of you off the boards.

I actually do not believe that either of you are acting with malicious intent, at least I would hope that is the case.

That is why I do not hump the notify mod flag on your posts.

I do know, and anyone who reads posts #37 - # 42 will see that what you have said here is simply not factually accurate.

I do take exception to slights to my character.

That is why I am posting this here, in order to rectify your factually inaccurate statements within this thread, directed towards myself.

Technology?
according to EZ Sniper, they don't require Ebay user name or passwords.
https://www.ezsniper.com/faqs.php3b]
Why do I need to give my auction site user I.D. and password?
You don't need to give us your eBay user ID or password. But, for the other auctions sites we support, we are not able to bid for you unless you allow us. EZsniper acts as your bidding agent. To do so, your username and password for auction sites other than eBay must be in our database.[/b][/b]

Exactly. I read over their FAQ and it mentioned something about linking your ebay account with the EZ Sniper account and then having to install their app to your browser. They also charge 1% commission on your wins or you can subscribe to the service.

I rather stick with the free sniping programs from the Google app store.

So far my first three bids were submitted successfully.

I was outbid and lost the items because my bids were not high enough, the software is not to blame this time.

I've used sniping tools in the past. I did provide my eBay username and password and didn't have an issue. The only time it came in handy were for those bids late at night when I didn't want to stay up to manually do it. You still have to be cautious and most will tell you that if you go below a certain amount of seconds that internet latency could bite you in the a$$. I just do it manually and know my pc/internet with 15 seconds left will put me in under 5 seconds.... If I really want something off hours I'll bid my max before bedtime and let it roll.

Given warns you that if you place a snipe bid within 2 minutes of the ending time of an auction, your snipe *may* not go through. This is true of all sniping services.

Easy solution to that is don't place your snipe bid in the last 2 minutes of an auction.

When I see an auction on ebay, I simply log onto Given and place my snipe bid.

If you somehow miraculously happen to stumble on a lot on ebay that has 2 minutes left in which to bid....just wait intil the final 5-8 seconds...and than hit confirm bid, I have done this before.

But sometimes, eBay logs you out of your account for inactivity or whatever reason.

Solution to that is to hit refresh on your browser at the 1 minute mark to check to see if you're still logged in.

I will copy/paste the eBay ID # or the eBay auction browser URL if I'm at home and not on the mobile app , in case eBay logs me out, so I don't have get shut out of my account before I have time to log back in.

I hit "confirm bid" in those RARE situations....at the 6 to 8 second mark.

Given places bids within the last 5 seconds of an an auction IIRC.

Given also has a "mirror" backup bidding system in place...which the free sniping sites do not.

For an annual cost of $7.95 , Given is what I'd suggest using.

If software is 100% free, there is a reason for that.

My question to those who suggest 100% free sniper service over a sniper that charges a lousy 8 bucks for 12 months is....why not just cough up the $8 and greatly lessen the odds of software that does not empty a second "mirror" service, in the event of some kind of power surge or malfunction of the free sniper service or Gixen man's main (not mirrored) snipe bid.

Gixen mirrored bid IIRC is placed if there is a server/power outage in Gixen physical main area/state.

The mirrored bid, would be placed from another server, in another area of the U.S....like from the rust belt ,opposed to the south, or wherever.

I snipe my bids to win books as cheaply as I can get them.

With inferior (free) sniping software, you are taking a chance that is not justifiable over a lousy eight effing bucks a year.
