Originally his claws were always man-made, part of the weapon X experiments. I believe the first appearance of the organic claws was in the movies.

I think it was actually in the comics first in Wolverine Origins but then I remember a particular issue where Magneto took all the metal in his body and during a fight, the claws came out and everyone saw that it was actually bone.

I will need to research to see if I can find the issue.

It was right after the Fatal Attractions storyline. Cyber broke the claws. Wolverine #78 maybe?

I thought it was X-Men #25 and then Wolverine #75?

That sounds about right. I just remember that the claws were broken at one point after Magneto pulled the adamantium out

I'm not the biggest JRJR fan, but I like this cover. I thought Blackheart looked pretty cool, far better than the film (lol) version, and probably could have made some noise with the right writer at the right time.
Someday his 1st appearance (270) will be hot. I just hope it's for a good reason.

One of my favorite DD covers.
I sold mine years ago, I think I'll look for another.

I have really enjoyed what everyone has shared. I have seen some that I have enjoyed previously, and also I have been been introduced to some new favorites. But I have not seen a couple of my long time favorites. Ones that I have loved since the very first time I saw the on the comic rack and still love them today just as much:

I'm a semi-hoarder of this book if I run across one nice enough. This was my very first superhero purchase off the shelf in 1969 liberating me from the Archie Series and headlong into the FF, Avengers, Thor, Hulk, X-Men, and so on.
