Yeah, this one I also like but it shows that the claws are man-made here with what looks like springs and tracks.

Originally his claws were always man-made, part of the weapon X experiments. I believe the first appearance of the organic claws was in the movies.

I think it was actually in the comics first in Wolverine Origins but then I remember a particular issue where Magneto took all the metal in his body and during a fight, the claws came out and everyone saw that it was actually bone.

I will need to research to see if I can find the issue.

I think it was Wolverine 75 which came out in 93. Before the first x-men movie.

You could look at it as the springs and pistons and stuff were just there to augment the strength of the natural tendons and muscles used to push the claws out.

It was right after the Fatal Attractions storyline. Cyber broke the claws. Wolverine #78 maybe?

That sounds about right. I just remember that the claws were broken at one point after Magneto pulled the adamantium out

I'm not the biggest JRJR fan, but I like this cover. I thought Blackheart looked pretty cool, far better than the film (lol) version, and probably could have made some noise with the right writer at the right time.
Someday his 1st appearance (270) will be hot. I just hope it's for a good reason.
