Comic Mount is made from a really flimsy plastic. I would NOT put anything valuable in one of those.

Mine have gone through a 7.2 earthquake without breaking or falling off wall. There's no way they could just break hanging there. It's possible they could fall, but that can be said about anything hanging.

That's cool KrellEducator. Those just look like bumpers on a bumper-car to me.

You could go the Homedepot route. That wouldn't look very good in my house though. But it works

I use and also recommend Comic Mount. Don't find them flimsy at all. Never had a issue.

The J-Channel is cool as well...

Personally, I just display them, usually in a place without direct sunlight, but I think it is a bit much to hide them away in boxes and print photo copies on the wall. If I were to hang photo copies I may as well just print off google and not buy the book. You are the only one who truly cares about your comics, so display them and look at them. Life is too short. Sure if you keep your books in hiding for years they will stay pristine, but who cares? We'll be old and not able to enjoy them as much and I doubt the kids would care as much as you did. ENJOY THEM WHILE YOU CAN!

Just my opinion, and I respect others decisions.

Over time gravity will take over if a book is stored standing up. This is usually OK, but depending on the type of inner well and amount of overhang a book may have damage can and has occurred.

Any light will cause damage. It may not be very much and in the case of indirect light, it may take a long time to become apparent, but it will happen.
Cool, dry, dark is the best

Better to make high quality scans of covers, print them out and frame them

THIS is worth repeating. ALL LIGHT is destructive to paper. UV light is just a lot more destructive, because it is more "energetic".

Print out a picture and frame it. Keep your books in boxes, in a climate controlled part of the house. Why? Because it isn't just about you. These are works of art and some thought of passing them onto future generations - still in good shape - should be considered.

Someone's in a bad mood. Comics are prints not a $100m original Picasso. If I want to display my comic that I bought, I will display my comic. If you want to keep yours in a box, go for it. If a comic is the original or last one on earth then maybe it can get more consideration.

Last year I came across a cool display system @ Motor City Comic Con - http://comicbookdisplays.com.
I picked up a regular display case for my copy of ASM #300 & I couldn't be happier. They also have cases for graded comics as well, so check 'em out!

black looks ok. I'm not a fan of coloured frames, but that's just me. If you need lots it would get expensive. That $24.99 would add up quickly, apposed to comicmount $5.99.

Although if you're only hanging $1000+ comics then it's a drop in the hat.

I just checked out the comic mount site & have to say WOW! Those are pretty cool and like you said the $5.99 tag is definitely easier on the wallet too. I'll definitely have to order some of these for my collection. Thanks again Kanaloa! 👍🏼
