| I guess if people want to send me messages on ebay regarding this thread... I could just out the comic store and the owner for telling a customer about their employee's private medical conditions. I don't know any of you guys personally, but just from the forum posts, if it came to a throwdown I'd place my wager on @kaptainmyke . He seems like the kind of guy we could trigger to go from mild-mannered comic enthusiast to full-Waterboy rage fairly easy. Maybe a refrain of "Ninja Turtles sucked; Street Sharks was better!" Get a couple guys egging that on an' I think we'd have a ringer on our hands...not that I would "ever" wager on a contest where I could influence the outcome...  |

Ok, before this thread is locked for going off-topic ( ), let me give an update...I talked to the owner today about what happened earlier this week. He says he hasn’t heard back from “Mr. Meltdown” in person but is still receiving updated 1* reviews from this guy. The owner is killing MM with kindness on the message boards and it’s absolutely driving MM up the wall! By now everyone’s heard about this situation; rallying behind the owner and praising him for taking care of his employees & taking the high road against MM’s continued rants online. After hearing time and time again that trying to placate Mr. Meltdown is a hollow gesture at this point, he agreed. He’s practically done with him, saying these foolish & childish games aren’t worth his time anymore. Good for him I say! The old adage is still true: you can’t please everybody all of the time. |

| Well said. Some people are never happy. They become bitter and act out against others, even complete strangers online. For what? Absolutely nothing gained. Makes no sense. Age and time is the only thing that makes these people learn. Sometimes they never learn! I only shared my story to add to the OP topic of how social media can make or break a loyal customer from a disgruntled employee or customer. Loyal customers stay even with higher prices sometimes because you get benefits sometimes others would not receive. Regardless, it's important to keep the customer happy if you want to keep earning money from them or they'll just go spend it elsewhere, especially if it's cheaper. | ||

| FWIW, last year in my home town, a social media 'war of words' ended up in a physical confrontation, with two people killed and three wounded. The killer pled self defense, was found guilty, and got life. Now he's trying to get parole because he developed terminal cancer. Parole was denied. All over a petty social media spat. For some some reason, people seem to grow a pair when hiding behind a screen. Kind of like road rage. The mods need to do a much better job here. |
