| @kaptainmyke I believe you conducted yourself in an appropriate manner; for it is entirely your prerogative as to where you spend your money. I also appreciate that the owner offered you an apology. However I seriously disapprove of her disclosing employee information. Aside from the apology, and a commitment to reprimand and/or discipline the out-of-line employee, the owner should not have anything else to say. That an employer would disclose personal medical information to a customer is unnecessary, a huge breach of the employees trust, and potentially legally actionable at both the civil (Holtrey v. Collier County Bd. of Commissioners) and criminal (HIPAA or ADA) level should the employee become aware of it. | ||

| @kaptainmyke I've noticed when it comes to comics a lot of the collectors out there have unique personalities (me included) and/or are quick to jump down people's throats. As a lot of comic discussions take place online, these a-holes are more brazen on how they act over the internet. "Keyboard Warriors". They would never say the same stuff to your face if you were standing in front of them. Even today for example. If you guys ever heard of "Collectors Corner" on Facebook. It's a big group of these type of people. A thread asked what people though of reprints/homage covers and I said that I don't like them and prefer original covers. Minutes later I'm being disparaged for my opinion and told to F-off and etc. By saying Homage covers suck they act as if I've killed their child or something, lol. I don't take stuff personally but some of these special people do. |

| I would ban the customer from the store and have a restraining order put on him. I had a friend buy a huge Golden Age collection. He bought it to flip it. Some were in rough condition and he didn't want to bother selling them item by item. I called a retailer friend and he was glad to buy the collection. I didn't expect anything out of it. The friend that sold the collection had a duplicate of one issue, so he gave me this as thanks: [  The friend that bought the collection was so happy that he let me pick from a stack of books. I picked this and he gave it to me as thanks:  I got two free Golden age books just for helping two friends. The customer has no right to expect anything. He was throwing a tantrum because he thought he could intimidate the owner into selling it to him. That would not be acceptable behavior if I owned a store. He would never be allowed to come back for anything. |

| This is simple. The guy that "just had to have it" is a spoiled jerk. No one else did anything wrong. People in business know that you can not please everyone. No matter how hard you try. There will always be someone who complains about something. And usually post on social media their anger. Just like the thread here recently, about the supposed "double cover" Inhumans vs X-Men #1. The original poster was incensed that CBCS did not label his book as having a double cover. And he threatened to go to several social media sites and tell everyone how rotten CBCS is. Then it was explained to him by CBCS that his book was not technically a double cover misprint. And the original poster slinked away, apparently embarrassed. No idea if he vented on any social media sites. No apology to CBCS, and no "Oops, my bad" even. Some people are just spoiled brats. Might as well get used to it, if you are in business. Unfortunately in life, the old saying is true. The squeaky wheel gets all the grease. |
