From the pic on the left I'd say they ran out of super hero padding

Edit: Oh, there it is, in the pic on the right

That is how Ms Marvel / Captain Marvel should look.

Compare that to the lame costume they plan to use for the upcoming movie.

Is that really what the new costume is going to look like? I thought I saw previews of the costume and it looked a heck of a lot different than that! They better fix that costume, it is like she is wearing her pajamas.

She looks kinda dumpy. Michelle Pfeiffer wore a prosthetic butt to get some posterior curves when she played Catwoman. I suspect that I will not like the Captain Marvel movie. If this is what she looks like, I could see myself walking out in the middle.

I like pretty women as well as the next guy. But when it comes to super hero costumes I prefer they make a bit of sense. The movie Captain Marvel costume is far more sensible then the cosplay (comic book) version. I mean what purpose does the little red scarf thingy do? Besides something to fall off. Feel the same way about most capes. Just something for the bad guys to grab a hold of.

@IronMan Personally I prefer the cosplay (comic book) version. But the studios can't use it because the Leftists will get all ape-stupid and offended.

I agree the cosplay suit wouldn't make sense in the universe the films have created, but she looks like she's ready to race a motorcycle.

I imagine she'll be wearing a couple different things. For all we know, this could be before she gets her powers. Who know what kind of origin these guys have "re-imagined" for her?

I always thought that a super hero or villain would NOT wear something easily recognizable by anyone and everyone. You know, look and dress like a regular Joe or Jill. Or at the very least, black clothing with a black mask, if they specialized in night time crime fighting.

Until they get endorsements, and then would wear company logo's and such.

But it is what it is.

That looks like thick skin-tight leather.

I think it'b be just as awkward as any outfit illustrated in a comic book.

This is one of the funniest cosplays I've seen....fantastic mashup! Saw him at SDCC 2016 I think. (sorry for the blurry pic; didn't realize how blurry it was until I saw it blown up on the computer)

I don't know about that. I'm (mostly) on the left and it doesn't offend me. It is just that the comic book version of the costume doesn't seem useful in a fight. And there are plenty of movies where women and men aren't wearing tons of clothing. That by itself doesn't usually cause a lot of noise. That's why Motion Pictures have ratings.

Realistically, anything will offend someone. The Ms. Marvel cosplay pictured wouldn't cause - I don't believe - a lot of noise from liberals or feminists. Really not that much skin. It's just a dumb costume for crime fighting or world saving.

While I love the vintage Ms. Marvel costume 🤓 I keep picturing how seriously I took Psylocke in X-Men: Apocolapse. Some things that are great in comics just don't work on film and let's face it, 3/4 of those things are costumes.

Guilty.

All I can say is that she doesn't look anything like that in the comics. She looks more like the girl next door than she does a battle ready and fit superhero.

I've always said that an attractive woman would even look good in a burlap sack. This costume is about as unflattering as you can get. The seams and layers look stupid. It presses all her curves flat and she looks like she's walking pigeon toed.

I was very optimistic about Antman, Dr. Strange, and Black Panther. I felt they delivered. I was not optimistic about The Inhumans and it was horrible. I'm not optimistic about this one either.

I believe it was stated in another thread that the green costume was based somewhat on the green and white costume that Captain Marvel wore between 1967 - 1969.

I had assumed that. Captain Marvel #17 is a bit of a key because he quit wearing that horrible outfit.

Theres no way the mouse lets marvel muck it up that badly. Is this a recent photo of the latest shooting? They have a potential star on their hands, yet that looks like a chick going to work in the sewers cleaning out fatbergs.

However, I’m thinking the green = digital modification

I question how much influence the mouse has TBH.

I feel like major studios only ever step in once there is enough principle photography done in order to make a satisfied call.

For example, Justice League... WB waited (from outsiders' perspective) waaaay too late to intervene
As did Disney with Solo... they wait too long, but maybe they are strong believers in the direction until they can see with their own eyes, the full product.

Cuz if it was me, I'd make this movie disappear as quickly as her butt.

It looks that awful

Blizzard fans give comics fans a run for their money when it comes to Cosplay. Honestly, I think the guys who figured out how to pull of Abathur/Pajamathur were extremely creative, and the lady who put together a full size Cydea costume deserves an award of some kind. Pity Blizzard doesn't do comics; I would love a Diablo comic series.
