@martymann If I get my #19 pressed, do you think it would bump up the grade?

Sorry, I have no clue what pressing is all about or what value it
offers.

Thanks...I had to track the photo down from the auction site because I didn't have any and never thought Id sell it so it depressed me even more when I looked it up...it was like seeing a long lost love walk down the street with a new boyfriend

Lol! I'll probably die with my collection sitting here in my man cave. I just can't seem to part with any of them. As you can see, I got mt Superman #4 at the top of this page from ha.com back in 2002.

@martymann I'm guessing you have the best collection of all the people on this board. You have some BEAUTIFUL books! How many in your collection and when did you start, if you don't mind me asking?

yup....great book!! I grabbed mine about 4 or 5 yrs ago and sold it for about the same...well below guide value. I just hadn't realized yet how rarely these books pop up...but I had bills to pay.

I started buying comics in 1942 and have 700+ which are all posted
at PARK AVENUE COLLECTION.
Thank you for your kind words and interest.

@martymann I think I got my motivation to collect things from my Grandfather. He was born in 1909, grew up in WW1, WW2 and the Great Depression. "You need to save that ball of string, you don't know when you may need it!" He started me collecting coins and when I turned 8 I started collecting comics books. Not to the point of being a hoarder but, there's not much room in my man cave left LOL!

That cover reminded me of another one I have. #196 Close to a cover swipe.

@esaravo I guess The Thing died in 1986. But, you do have the first appearance.

This is my oldest Superman comic: #150. It has been cleaned and pressed. I have mostly from 200-550ish.

These are my two earliest graded copies. I looked high and low to acquire these in high grade. Love the black covers; really sets off the art and colors.

@Foghorn_Sam - Man, those are smoking! If you added the grades for my raw copies together, they wouldn’t make a 9.2! I do have a nice copy of the Arabic version of the Superman. How many differences can you find?

Did you notice the remainder of the removed word ballon on Superman’s thigh?

I got this beauty last year, but owning something this old makes me nervous. Still, love those crisp colors and strong, simple lines.

My oldest Batman isn't nearly so impressive, but I will look to see what I have. Maybe a beat up copy of Batman 191 I've had since I was a kid. ( "Bat-auction: Everything Must Go!" )

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
I sold this one

This one is still up in my eBay store after a potential buyer reneged on the sale:

I still have this early Lois Lane book:
