| VAComicsGuy said something a while back that I wanted to respond to, but never got around to. He made a post about a topic, and at the end, actually apologized for the length of it. I thought to myself "why are you apologizing for anything? Is your opinion not worth sharing? Is it only worth sharing if it can be condensed to Tweet size? You have as much right to your opinion, within the framework of this board, as anyone else, so why apologize for sharing it? If you have something to say, say it! Don't be ashamed if it takes "a lot of words." There's nothing wrong with "a lot of words", if you have something to say...even if you don't have something to say, but what you're saying was interesting. The longest post ever posted on this board wouldn't fill a 10 page high school report paper, so the complaints...it's just not cool. |

| All of you have just showed the real problem with these forums. Get a good topic that people WANT to help with, and the page count goes up and may scare off a new reader IF they ever find it. Otherwise, minus the timely "buzz", the thread goes dark and gets buried in the cobwebs system. Everything gained and shared now lost. Some of the points brought up by a lot of you, even "you" and "your sparring partner", have REALLY been fantastic. Self control, self edited communication, general courtesy ....these WERE being done. Go back on the first two pages and see, objectively, how posters have gone out of their way to HELP here. Long story short, everyone has something to say. COMMUNICATION is not just saying what you want, but REACHING your audience...especially, if you want to make a difference. |

| I love reading about comic books. And I love learning about comic books (and just about anything else). And I love a good debate. I NEVER get personal, unless the barbs are directed at me first. When I am personally attacked with comments about "calling me out" for blah, blah, blah. I respond. Check other threads, but y'all have read them. So yea. I can be a jerk. But remember this. I NEVER do it first. You push me and I push back twice as hard. It's laughable when a certain person here says he "just wants to have a good discussion" and that "disagreements should not result in attacks". When he does it all of the time. He even jumped down the throat of a newbie asking newbie questions, and insinuated he was stupid. But said what he did was justified because that newbie needed to be told how stupid he was, for his own good. You leave me alone and I will leave you alone. I have no desire whatsoever interacting with you. Just control your mouth and I will control mine. And for Gods sake. Quit crying to the moderators trying to sound like the little kid in the playground being bullied. YOU are the bully here. Just like you did to that newbie. You have been suspended for a week and then for two weeks. Either a moderator is really unfair and misguided. Or you earned those suspensions. Getting a suspension is not evil and could happen to any of us on a bad day. I will grant you that. But you are in an argument and dispute EVERY DAY here. This is my last dispute with you, unless you attack me again. Promise. |
