I only set up selling comics at a show a handful of times. It was me, a friend, and his friend. My friend's friend was the sound mixer for Jackyl. My understanding is that once they got their record deal, the record company insisted that they replace the guy I knew. Those two guys were instrumental in me getting back into collecting comics in the 90's. They'd sit around at a local club talking comics. I remember telling them I had two X-Men #1's and they said "It hasn't come out yet." When they found out I was talking about the one from 1963, I never paid another cover charge again to get into the club.

I was looking for the band PG-13 on youtube. PG-13 was Jesse's band before Jackyl. The guitarist for PG-13 went on to play with Mother's finest. PG-13 did some of the best AC/DC cover tunes I've ever seen. There was one local guy who could play AC/DC better, but he plays for about a half-dozen bands that I know about. When it was announced that Brian Johnson was leaving AC/DC (since reversed as far as I know), my hope was that Jesse would join the band. He's a much better singer than Axl Rose. I remember Jesse's gorgeous wife walking around pregnant. The kid is old enough to play on stage live with Jackyl now.

I might be in Jackyl video. They walked into the club once with a big video camera. It panned past me at one point. They said they were filming a video. I've never seen the footage.

"Busted" was probably one of their lowest selling albums, but this was a solid pop ballad.

Here's the promo comic for the album. It was distributed to record stores.

Lemmy showed up at the club where I hung out to listen to live music. He walked in the door and saw all the local posers with Bon Jovi style teased hair. He shook his head and walked right back out.

A liitle oddity. Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick wrote the song. Some of Pat Benatar's band plays on the album with Rick Derringer.
