I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately COA's mean nothing when it comes to verifying a signature through VSP. CSA , the independent company that does the handwriting analysis for the signatures does not take COA's into consideration. I have not seen a Dynamic Forces VSP, they may exist but as a Kirby signature collector myself I have avoided them, even when the price seemed reasonable. I have heard unsubstantiated rumors that Jack was way too ill when those books were supposedly signed so it is believed that Roz, his wife signed many if not all of them.

The books keep selling so perhaps there is something legit about them. CGC gave them yellow labels (with a Stan Lee signature). Submit it and see, hope for the best, prepare for...best of luck to you.

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
I'm not sure how Dynamic Forces is perceived amongst the more hardcore collectors. I get the impression they're considered to be a novelty not really to be taken seriously. I could be wrong though.

DF signed books are generally considered "the best you can get" for signed books prior to the SS era, because their program was so systematic. Most of the books were signed AND numbered, the numbers match the certs, etc.

The fortunate thing, for the moment, is that most DF signed books aren't worth any premium over their unsigned counterparts. That means there's little incentive for forging. However...if that were to change, it would become a problem.

I would never pay ANY premium for one of these signed books, but have no problem buying them when I run across them.

I contacted CBCS and they said that they do not perceive the Dynamic Forces Jack Kirby signatures to all be fake.

They look at them on a case by case basis, so its possible some / all are real.

I have a DF COA for my X-Men #1: Milestone Edition. I had it SS Stan Lee by CGC, and they now have a new yellow/green label. Yellow for Stan's sig and Green for Jack's. I'll take a picture when I get home.

Reminds me of Dr McCoy. DeForest Kelley was so ill that his wife started signing everything for him in his last 10 yrs of life. Most acknowledge that her hand is by proxy signed by the man himself.

I got Stan to sign it too. I've seen some examples before. I'm hoping cbcs can verify both signatures on the book and receive a red label

Of course I have to own one. Gonna have to get it verified some day, just to see. Not really an autograph collector, but I consider Kirby the icon of icons.

Your doubt that Kirby's wife Roz signed some of the Marvel Milestone books is not reasonable. Roz almost certainly signed some of them. Probably a lot of them. Maybe most. Kirby's health was failing in his last few years and he was trying to do some projects to raise money for his family before his passing.

Dynamic Forces likely didn't even know. They drop off 2,000 copies at Kirby's house and they pick them up a week later.

I'm in no way dogging the books, I own one myself. But I'm not going to bother sending it in for VSP because I know there is a decent chance it's not Jack's signature. I also am of the opinion that even if Roz signed it that is it still special.

Has anyone ever sent in a DF Kirby to cbcs to get verified and it passed? I plan on sending it in anyway cause Stan signed it in Dallas. But hopefully Jack did sign it. If he was too sick I figured Roz would have declined on his behalf. Just my theory.
