The NYX and Uncanny 266 I got secondhand, hence the CGC, but the X-Factor I got as a present as a kid and have had for a long time.

I bought this several years ago from a one dollar bin. It was in super magnificent condition. Boom! it went up! I'm awaiting the chance to get Georgie to sign it.

So yesterday I got my books back that I submitted to CBCS at RI Comic Con on November 12th. I am extremely happy with the grades and the fact that I personally purchased each of these books for their cover price at newsstands or my LCS when they were new. Like most of you long-time collectors (okay, you old guys), I have no shortage of potential books to submit for grading (my only shortages are time and money). For this submission, I only submitted books that I thought were 9.6 (or better) candidates (with one exception).

Here's the one exception, a What If #1. I have two copies of this book and picked out the best one so I could have it signed at the convention by Joe Sinnott, who drew and inked the cover. In my mind, this man is a legend and underappreciated by most collectors. Older than Stan Lee, I have had the pleasure of meeting this man twice now, and hope to get the chance again. The guy directly in front of me for signatures saw my copy of What If #1 and told me it was the whitest and cleanest copy he had ever seen. I thanked and smiled knowing it was in my opinion a 9.2 or 9.4, nice but not super nice. I was very happy to get the 9.4 with White pages for this 40-year old Newsstand Edition.

Not sure why this issue came back with OW/W page quality. It was stored right next to the #298 shown above since the day it was purchased (my real regret is that my #300 that I submitted last year only got a 9.0).

Another comic that has OW/W pages. I have no idea why it would differ from the majority of the others.

I have always liked the Swamp Thing and still can't believe a friend talked me into selling my HOS #92 and original Swamp Thing #1-24 many years ago. I do have a few of the second series and pulled my copies out when another forum user was looking for high-grade raw copies (you know I am talking about you John). Some were in amazing shape so I thought I would submit them for grading. As an added bonus, one has a double cover. All of them have amazing covers.

Another signed comic, G.I. Joe #1 Newsstand Edition. I wish I had brought the second issue to be signed also.
