I bought a bag of 4 coverless comics today for $1. Inside was an Archie Pals 'n' Gals #125, Captain America #133, Hot Wheels #2 and an Incredible Hulk #181.

Good news is the Marvel Value Stamp was there, Bad news is... well, no cover.

Not bad for 0.25c

That's a score for sure. A coverless Hulk 181 sold on e-bay on 10/2 for $380.

Nice. many who cannot afford the #181 would be happy to settle with a coverless version.

What do you plan to do with it?

Here you go! Welcome to the wonderful world of the MVS (aka, the most annoying thing in the universe when discovering it's been clipped AFTER you buy the book. )

@Savage_Spawn
I gotta agree with @DocBrown . Once you see the books that have them, that you may have in your collection and you turn to the page to find a big fat cutout of these, it hurts the soul lol. Anybody know if this effects grading like with the Online Codes???

Lol well they’re just like these little stamps that Marvel put in the books I wanna say around the time of late 60s and through the 70s. I have no idea if they were useable or just an add on to entice people to buy books but I DO know some people cut them out and collected them rather than leaving them in the book. I don’t know much further or if them missing can have a negative effect on grade or what. Marvels Legacy regular print books has them but in a different manner not on an actualy page/advertisement.

It's a cutout, so I assume it makes the book incomplete (I believe it would be a CGC qualified). But it must affect the grading in any case.

If they are missing they make certain keys affordable though.

That link tells you about the program. It's an interesting piece of Marvel history.

An MVS cutout automatically reduces the book to the Fair range...it's a perfect example of why a "Qualified" grade exists.
