Finally received my Mattina cover Dark Nights: Metal #6 in the Mail today. My 1-6 favorite cover set is now complete. And a mini helmet signed by James Harrison snuck in the pic too.

@martymann So, did you play this part between segments of the Dick Tracy cartoon?

Also, that pic of “Bozo” is somehow unsettling.

Yes I did...and believe me the BOZO character was "unsettling".

Wait. For the “Chocks”, did you have to buy an empty bottle & then shop owner would fill it for you?

Alas, when I was a kid, my preference was Smith Bros. Cherry cough drops, but both options for tasty over the counter cough remedies were readily available back then.

This flyer might fall into the ALMOST cool category since, in the end, the convention failed to materialize in spite of initially having financial support, good objectives and a solid line-up of confirmed guests.

At the time, my style of SF art had become very popular, so when asked to be the Special Artist GOH at NEXUS I graciously accepted. I felt it was a great honor being featured with such a distinguished roster of accomplished guests.

Unfortunately, the convention sponsors ended up having a hotel contract dispute which put everything on hold. The convention eventually fell apart about a month before the dates scheduled, ...but anecdotally, it was a very cool idea...

Impressive indeed! I used to have a Houstoncon '69 badge with my signature Cat emblem, but alas, it may have decayed over the decades. I sometimes feel that way myself!

Any Rush fans in the house? Snagged the Moon Records album about 20 years ago from a second hand store for $20....I think it was worth it.

My only copy is an early maroon Mercury.

Been hunting for a Moon recording since I were a teen. 40 yrs later...still no change to that hunt.

But I have found some very rare obscure LPs in the wild....so those unicorns exist....shite...you have two....LOL

The Pink is the Mercury release which had a printing error on its initial run and has remained pink to this day....

The Red is the original Moon Records edition on heir own label. The Moon isn't in the greatest condition, but it's cool to have in the collection. They printed 3500 of them back in '73 and most were sent to radio stations to get some exposure...then the next run was the Mercury printing after they were signed...

I love those kinds of copies.

A couple of years ago - I sold a Mono Days of Future Passed (radio issue only) - with a Demonstration Only/PROMO sticker on the back...not an imprint....record was in poor to good...but the cover....wow....

it sold for about $78.00 I think.....not too bad for a Goodwill find.

That's a great find at a Goodwill, I think all the mono versions were promo copies, copies are pretty rare these days.

I am a big Rush fan. Thanks for sharing. I have all of the cassette tapes and a few newer ones on CD. I have Moving Pictures on LP. Hoping to pick up more on vinyl this year.

Since we’re talking music, does anybody have the Deftones’ demo tape “(Like) Linus”?

I have all their albums. I’m only missing the demo tape.
