So i am eventually going to get an invincible #1 but is the larry edition a gem that will increase in value once the movie comes out being not many first printings are for sale in 9.8 condition?

So your question is if you buy the Larry's edition in 9.8, is it a good investment at today price? There is a clear reason why its selling at such a low price right now, its a reprint.

Yea that is true but its a few months later reprint and the original print commads a hefty price tag, so do you think this reprint will increase in value over time?

If more people start to pay higher prices it will increase over time. Todays price is todays price. Asking to view a crystal ball is pure speculation. Buy you what you like, and if it goes up in price than you get a bonus return if you decide to sell. If your in this just to flip to make money, than good luck.

Yes, but...as is always true, the best will always rise faster and higher, both absolutely and percentage-wise, than the good.

Larry's is an interesting book, but it IS a reprint, and not a very interesting one at that (no new cover art, etc.)

You have to wonder, though, if there had been a Larry's Walking Dead #1...

Get the real comic, not the copy. Nobody cares about the reprint except the people who can't afford the real thing.

The "big threee" superheroes from Image are Spawn, Invincible, and The Savage Dragon. It's interesting how Spawn and Dragon #1s have been plentiful (ie overproduced) while I've never seen an original Invincible #1 other than the Image Firsts reprints, which I've picked up several copies here and there. Value wise I don't see how the reprints will increase very much in future value and am frankly suprised at the value of the original #1s.....

I'm surprised at why anyone cares about the original Invincible #1, to be honest with you...

It's a great series with a dedicated following is my guess.

Thanks. No im in it to own it but do want it to retain some value so IF i am forced to sell one day or get an original print, i could flip it and upgrade

At one point, Invincible #1 and Walking Dead #1 were worth the same as back issues...and no, not $3.

I guess. Go up to the random peep on the street and ask them if they know who Spawn, Dragon, or Invincible is. My bet is most peeps have heard of Spawn, Batman and Robin....

Savage, you are a troll on this thread. Why!?! What does Batman have to do with Invincible? Have you heard of Kirkman? Image? Etc. Are you just a basic super hero fanboy. Of course people know of Batman. Doesn't take away from a great series.

I don't, but I care about a reprint of it even less.

Omg. This site is becoming clear to me. Batman, Superman, etc. Please!!!! There are great comics out there. And the best ones have nothing to do with DC or Marvel.

I would venture to say that I own more non-MARVEL & non-DC comics than you do. Image is still a mainstream, bubble gum product. If you want to be an eclectic snob, start talking about all the Fantagraphics & Slave Labor Graphics titles you own. It's laughable to claim that love for an Image super-hero title makes you more open minded than someone who buys Marvel or DC.

Umm. That wasn't point. Calm down. Is your point to be pretentious by naming smaller publishers? This post was in reply to Savage's statement about asking someone about Batman vs. Invincible. Of course more people will know Batman.

Why are we always fighting over nothing really? We are all allowed to recommend likes and dislikes. It's not the end of the world yet.

This is an example of why sometimes this type of communication is difficult. I was in no way, manner, or form "trolling". I was expressing surprise and an opinion. I love Image comics and I have several Invincible comic books (including the #1 reprint. Sorry if you took it as a troll. Just comparing the overall popularity of comic book heroes in the general publics minds, not just our core of knowledgeable collectors. Sorry if you took it as a troll, it was not.

No problem. I come off a bit brisk in print. Also wish Image would be a bit more pro-active in their marketing. But it is what it is....
