2nd video is disconcerting. So he cut through the heat seal, is that right? |

@dpiercy no, he cut a slit along the top edge to slide the label. All heat seals were left intact, and the heat seal edges were not touching the label as they are supposed to. |

It's a breached slab, and label seal. He cut just below the seal seam line, to create a pocket opening. It's people like this that remind me of the way hacking has seemingly become an obsession for some. As indicated earlier, Dupcak did the same with a CGC slab and the thread was immediately pulled, so an instructional on how to breach a tamper evident holder is never going to go over well. |

This breaks my heart to see these videos...however, I'm still a CBCS customer for life. I'm confident the issues will get worked out eventually. |

@ComicWiz I would keep in mind that many companies have better security today because hackers forced them to except their own vulnerabilities instead of sweeping them under rugs. |

Theres the rub, right there.
- CBCS has a solution, and it needs to be enforced much better, and immediately.
- The maker of the video is *most likely being disingenuous. @DarthLego has 50%, I have 0%. The real number is probably between the two, say 75%? The video clearly implies that all CBCS books are like this.
What are the odds he picked up two of the same error books? 25% to pick one, 6% to pick two without coming across a correctly sealed label first. Thus, there's 94% chance he knew and cherry-picked two slabs to make the video and 6% chance he actually didnt know (and thats assuming this was his first time trying). Im betting on d-bag. |

When I get home from work I'll do an exact inventory and documentation of my slabs and heat seals and lack thereof. |

Lol
Your sample size is probably bigger than mine anyways
What I can say, is this discovery is a good thing; it will make CBCS better. |

I guess I'm going to have to become an expert in the differences between 9.6 and 9.8 now.
I am not sure how I'm going to visually determine graders notes such as the imperceptible "light folds" that I never understand or see; but I will have to now! |

@Nuffsaid111 if you can see the heat seal edges welded to the label then you're good. |

Could this be a potentially swapped comic? To me it looks way worse than a 5.5

@shrewbeer what really astounded me was the discovery that my original labels had been much better done than any of the new labels. |

@KingNampa look right next to the serial number, it's hard to see but the heat seat continues into the label. |

Well, neither one of my two Golden Age Detectives (37 & 44) have the heat seal going into the label. The 44 is going up for auction on eBay this week, so we'll see what kind of questions I get. |

I cracked out 3 CBCS slabs today. All three of the labels were held tightly to the inner well in the heat seal. In order to get them out completely I had to tear the label. I have a few of my own CBCS slabs here to check. I will look later on tonight. |

Now that cbcs has stated that the heat sealing through the label is in fact a security measure, will they reslab any existing slabs that have only one or possibly no sides sealed free of charge? |

Can you please post some pictures so we can have an example to review? Thanks! |

I'm glad the labels were secured into the inner well on the ones you cracked out. I know awhile back there was some discussion about how the inner well could be removed and reinstalled into the outer shell. I really believe the label is going to have to be secured to the inner well and the outer shell is going to have to show some sort of visible damage if it's been opened. |
