| I'm with you, but it didn't really bother me too much when they made Blind Al black in the last movie even though she's white in the comics. But Domino is way over the top. She barely looks anything like Domino in the comics, to me. Personally I enjoy seeing the characters in the movies/television look like they do in the source material--comic books or novels (in the case of The Dark Tower). But then again, I think Morgan Freeman did a great job playing Redd in Shawshank Redemption, and Redd was a white Irishman in the book. |

| For the Dark Tower it is especially irritating because their casting choice eliminates the entire character arc between Roland and Susannah, and Eddie Dean in future movies. Who Susannah is and the time period she was drawn from are key to her character and how she interacts with Roland and Eddie, and how she has to overcome her own hatred and perceptions of white men. Now that entire story arc makes no sense if Roland is black. Is Susannah going to be calling Idris Elba a "honky mofo?" I think not. So what are they going to do, cast Susannah as a young racist white woman? That will be super awkward, and how would they cast Eddie if they go that route? Because Eddie and Susannah become a couple, and overcoming the whole race thing to fall in love with Eddie was a huge part of Susannah's character development. The whole thing is maddening to true fans of King's books. | ||

| Changing races doesnt bother me at all. However, changing persona, or the overall look of a character is bullshit. I was so pissed when I heard the ninja turtles were given ghetto-gangster accents. I still haven't watched that movie and probably won't. |
