Anybody got one they're looking to sell that they're not going to be charging an arm and a leg for? I have Superman 204 and I'd love to get them both signed by Jim at FanExpo Canada. Just everybody on EBay wants my first born for one. Also looking for Weapon x #1 (2009) Adam Kubert variant |

I love it so much that I actually declined the opportunity to have it signed by Jim Lee and went with my first print 608 that was already signed by Jeph Loeb.

Just looked at ebay - what is going on with 608 2nd print $300+ for 9.8?? I was surprised to see I was still buying super hero books back then as my trusty excel says I have both 1st and 2nd prints - I have zero attachment to this book -should I get signed and sell - pickup a nice silver age book instead?? |

@KatKomics It's always been a desired book, but started heating up when BvS was announced. If it has heated up more in the last week this might be why.![]() |

Might have candidates for my second submission to CBCS?? Based on my last/first submission these should be 9.6-9.8 Ah!! send in Sept 1st get back January 2018?? Sorry for poor scan quality - books still in bags. Really sad that I paid more for the 1st print, the fact that the 2nd print has my LCS price on the bag means that this made it off the weekly rack and into the secondary rack (usually 4 or 5 issues), wouldn't think it made it to the bins? ![]() ![]() |

I had a stack of Batman #608 seconds in my hand...probably 20 or so..at Golden Apple in December of 2002, at their annual end-of-the-year 10 cent blowout sale. I picked the 3 nicest, and because I bought 30 or so long boxes, the manager let me have those for free. The kicker: I DID NOT KNOW they were second prints, or I wouldn't have bought a single one. ![]() Yes, that was JUST before the very first "hot second print" in comics history, Batman #612. Prior to that, second (and later) printings were the kiss of death, hated and despised by one and all. But people saw that Jim Lee Bats/Supes sketch cover, and it was all over. (To be fair, there was another...Adventurers #1 2nd...but that's because it contained additional material that included the first appearance of Elf Warrior.) |

I have a CGC 9.8 copy of the second print and a raw copy of Weapon X 1 Kubert color variant and a 9,8 CGC copy of the black and white variant signed by Ron Garney.

I think 2nd prints are only kiss of death when they reuse the old cover. When they bring out new artwork they get a pardon from the governor. When that artwork is 10 times cooler than the first print art and the print run is lower, that's icing on the cake.

@KatKomics are you just going to keep teasing @Wolverine with that 608? It's his birthday man, have some compassion. ![]() |

I still cant believe I paid 20x cover price for a 9.8 2nd print (Psy#1). But I did, and Im not sorry about it (yet?). I think Darth is on to something though. My book is different art (BETTER art). I wouldnt pay more than ten cents for a superman 5th print (but in the case of flippers, see "Greater Fool Theory" ) ![]() Granted, Im sure theres a bit of demand from completionists putting together runs of Supes, but I suspect that demand isnt much of the market |

I think it's foolish to pay more for any subsequent printing that is same art as the first printing. And no, different color ways don't count as new art. My only exception would be a black & white inks only version if the art is spectacular. Print runs don't mean jack to me, subsequent printings are low for a reason, there is no demand for them other than reading material for those who missed the first print that sold out. imo
